Bonneville International will LMA Entercom’s required spin-offs in Sacramento and San Francisco. Bonneville International will gain control of four of CBS’ five stations in Sacramento: AC “Mix 96” 96.1 KYMX, Hot AC “Now 100.5” KZZO, “New Country 105.1” KNCI, and “Sports 1140” KHTK. Bonneville also will operate four stations in San Francisco: CBS Radio CHR “99.7 Now” KMVQ and Entercom AC 96.5 KOIT, Classic Rock “98.5 K-Fox” KUFX, and Urban AC 102.9 KBLX. In order to complete its merger with CBS Radio, Entercom has agreed to divest sixteen stations in order to ensure regulatory approval. In a memo sent to CBS Radio employees CEO Andre Fernandez revealed that the following stations will be divested: Boston: CBS Radio’s News/Talk 1030 WBZ, Sports “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM, Classic Rock 100.7 WZLX and Entercom’s Talk 680 WRKO and Urban AC “The New 97.7” WKAF. Entercom AC 96.5 KOIT San Francisco has quickly filled its morning vacancy with the addition of Nick Steele and Kristen Flowers from Entravision Country “101.9 The Wolf” KNTY Shingle Springs/Sacramento. Steele and Flowers, who are married, have been with KNTY since June 2014. They previously worked at Midwest Communications CHR “100.7 Mix-FM” WMGI Terre Haute IN. Steele has also worked in Las Vegas, Tyler TX, and Dayton OH, while Flowers previously worked in News/Talk in Las Vegas and Houston. They replace Andrew Hart who departed the station last week.
After a year and a half in mornings at Entercom AC 96.5 KOIT San Francisco, Andrew Hart has exited his position as morning host. Hart joined KOIT from Hubbard Hot AC “101.9 The Mix” WTMX Chicago in June 2015 to replace nearly 20 year station vet Jack Kulp. Kulp would join iHeartMedia Soft AC “98.1 The Breeze” KISQ when it launched this past April and taking much of KOIT’s audience with it. At AC 96.5 KOIT, the recently departed Brent Carey is replaced by Freska, who moves over from middays at at Classic Hip-Hop “Q102.1” KRBQ Billy Vidal will move up from weekends to take the open midday slot at KRBQ. Meanwhile at sister Urban AC 102.9 KBLX, Victor Zaragosa is leaving the Dream Team morning show with Kimmie Taylor and Mark Curry to move to afternoons. A change is coming to mornings at Entercom AC 96.5 KOIT San Francisco. As first reported yesterday by Robert Feder, “101.9 The Mix” WTMX Chicago night host Andrew “Finnigan” Hart is heading west to take over the morning show at KOIT currently hosted by Jack Kulp and Charly Kayle. Hart, who uses the “Finnigan” name at WTMX to differentiate himself from morning co-host Kathy Hart, will use his real name at KOIT. The 26 year-old joined the Hubbard Hot AC in August 2012 from weekends at iHeartMedia CHR “103.5 Kiss-FM” WKSC. Exiting KOIT is Jack Kulp just shy of his twentieth anniversary (and 18 in mornings) at the station. All of the references to him have been wiped from the station’ web and social media properties this morning.
