iHeartMedia Urban “96.7 The Beat” WRDG Union City GA is the second Atlanta market station to lose its translator signal today as 92.3 W222AF Marietta was taken off the air. Unlike Cumulus’ W255CJ there was no FCC involvement at play, but rather Immanuel Broadcasting Network, which leased the translator to iHeartMedia, has found a new operator for it with the expiration of its current lease. W222AF is currently off the air and we have yet to confirm who will assume operation of W222AF. W222AF covers Atlanta and its northern suburbs with 99w/247m. It was most recently used to give the south suburban based WRDG a signal in Atlanta proper. Combined the two signals received a 0.7 share in the February 2018 Nielsen Audio ratings.

Atlanta southern rimshot 96.7 WLTM Peachtree City, which picked up its current “Lite-FM” AC format when sister 94.9 dropped it in favor of Country last December looks to be following in its footsteps. Clear Channel has registered 967thelegend.com which points to wltm2-ip.clearchannel.com. WLTM is currently airing all-Christmas music so a flip should happen right after the holidays (or before like 94.9 last year).
