Brooke & Jubal Come To Biloxi & Louisville

The rapid station growth for the syndicated Brooke & Jubal morning show continues with the addition of Alpha Media Classic Hip-Hop “G96.7” WGBL Gulfport/Biloxi and Hot AC “102.3 The Max” WXMA Louisville. The stations join Country 103.1 WIRK West Palm Beach and CHR “Energy 102.3” WNGY Peoria as recent Alpha Media station to pick up the show, showing the format flexibility the company believes in the show. Brooke & Jubal replace Eric Cornish and Lynda Lambert at WXMA, while WGBL has been jockless in mornings since its flip from Country in February. Alpha Media flipped Country “96.7 The Bull” WGBL Gulfport MS to Classic Hip-Hop “G96.7” on Valentine’s Day. WGBL failed to make a splash with Country, placing twelfth in the market with a mere 1.1 share in the Fall 2015 Nielsen Audio ratings in a three-way battle against Dowdy Broadcasting’s “Kicker 108” WZKX and iHeartMedia’s “K99” WKNN. Update 9/5: As expected, WUJM flipped to Country “96.7 The Bull” at 5:00pm today. The new format is being positioned as “The Gulf Coast’s New Hit Country Station” with a younger skew. Launching with 10,000 songs in a row, the Bull’s first was Kenny Chesney’s “American Kids”. Mark ‘Tic Tak’ Allen has been named Program Director for The Bull. Larry Wilson Acquires Triad Broadcasting

Larry Wilson, the former founder and CRO of Citadel Broadcasting who operates Alpha Broadcasting in Portland, has acquired Triad Broadcasting for $21 Million. Triad operates with different operational names in the markets it serves, such as Go Radio Fargo, JMP Radio in Peoria, and Adventure Radio in Bluefield and Savannah/Hilton Head The company will be operated under the name L&L Radio, standing for “Live & Local”.
