Rhythmic CHR “96.9 Hits-FM” Launches In Fargo

W245CM made its debut as “96.9 Hits-FM” on Saturday, March 15. Not satisfied to launch with the usual 10,000 songs commercial-free, the new Rhythmic CHR is debuting with 33,969 in-a-row albeit with sponsorships thrown in. The station is taking shots at its competition for the amount of commercials it plays as the commercial-free run on 96.9 should take it completely through the upcoming Spring book and into the start of the summer. Station Sales Radio Disney continued the sell-off of its stations with 1560 WQEW New York going to Family Radio and The Word Network purchasing 910 WFDF Farmington Hills/Detroit. In other previously reported deals this week, Simmons Media purchased Spanish Peaks Broadcasting’s cluster in Missoula, MT and Idaho Wireless purchased Pacific Empire Broadcasting’s 102.5 KMGI and 930 KSEI Pocatello, ID. Morgantown, WV and Southwestern Pennsylvania will be gaining a new commercial FM as Robert and Ashley Stevens’ Broadcast Communications purchases 106.9 WRIJ Masontown, PA from He’s Alive, Inc or $350,000.
