Sinclair Communications Acquires Austin Translator

Sinclair Communications, the operator of radio clusters in Norfolk VA and Santa Rosa CA as well as 49.9% owner of the Emmis run cluster in Austin TX, is purchasing 97.1 K246BD Sunset Valley/Austin TX for $903,000. Currently owned by Greg Shapiro’s GHS Inc., the translator is currently operated as brokered Regional Mexican “Fiesta 97.1” fed via 104.9 KTXX-HD2 Bee Cave. Sinclair intends to have the 99w/334m K246BD rebroadcast an HD subchannel of 93.3 KGSR Cedar Park.
