Yesi Ortiz Rises To KAMP Music Director

Just five months after joining Entercom CHR “97.1 Amp Radio” KAMP Los Angeles for midday host duties, Yesi Ortiz has been promoted to Music Director of the station. Ortiz joined KAMP in April at which time APD John Michael took on the Music Director duties until his exit from the cluster in June. She previously spent 12 years in middays across town at Mereulo Media Rhythmic CHR “Power 106” KPWR until exiting at the end of January. Entercom Gives New Roles To Kevin Weatherly & Chris Ebbott In Los Angeles

Entercom has announced new roles for a pair of its programmers in Los Angeles CA. Chris Ebbott, who currently serves as Program Director for CHR “97.1 Amp Radio” KAMP and Classic Hits “K-Earth 101” KRTH, will drop those duties at KAMP but become Operations Manager for Radio.com in Los Angeles. Ebbott joined the then-CBS Radio cluster in June 2014 from Bell Media Toronto to program KRTH. He added KAMP programming duties in July 2017. Senior VP/Programming Kevin Weatherly will retake the PD role for KAMP. Weatherly programmed the station from its launch in 2009 until last July. Michelle Boros has resigned her postion as Music Director/Midday host at Entercom CHR “97.1 Amp Radio” KAMP Los Angeles after eight years with the station. Prior to joining KAMP, Boros programmed and hosted afternoons on CHR “20 on 20” for XM Satellite Radio and worked in the Dallas market. CBS Radio Los Angeles is rearranging some of its programming duties in Los Angeles. Senior Vice President of Programming Kevin Weatherly will hand off the day-to-day Program Director duties for CHR “97.1 Amp Radio” KAMP to Chris Ebbott. Ebbott has programmed Classic Hits “K-Earth 101” 101.1 KRTH since July 2014. KLSX Flip Confirmed

Yesterday we discovered a number of domains hinting towards a new format at CBS FM Talker 97.1 KLSX Los Angeles. Today, a number of dominoes have fallen. Morning Host Adam Carolla’s affiliates have been told that Friday will be the last day the show will be produced. Middayers Frosty, Heidi, and Frank have been discussing the pending flip on air. Now CBS is confirming that Friday at 5:00pm, KLSX will become “Amp Radio 97.1” playing “All The Hits”.

These CBS Radio Rumors

Over the past 36 hours rumors have been flying regarding CBS making a number of format flips in multiple markets. The first of which came true today as Rhythmic AC KMVK “Movin 107.5” Dallas flipped to Spanish Hot AC as “Mega 107.5“. We have found a number of domains that could hint at a possible flip in Los Angeles. AmpRadioLA.com, Amp971.com, and Amp971fm.com were all registered anonymously on February 9. Back on January 16, AmpRadio971.com and 971AmpRadio.com were registered by programming consultant Anthony Acampora. CBS launched the “AmpRadio” brand in Los Angeles as a Teen-oriented webcaster/HD2 simulcast last February on 93.1 KCBS-HD2. CBS Radio looks to be launching a youth-targeted CHR on KCBS-HD2 Los Angeles and online in the coming days. AMPRadio.com currently features a splash page featuring Hannah Montana, Paramore, Jordin Sparks, Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani, The Jonas Brothers, and “100,000 Amp2unes In A Row”. Infinity To Launch Network Of FM Talkers Using FreeFM Brand

With all the hoopla surrounding the departure of Howard Stern to Sirius at the end of the year, many radio industry pundits have wondered what Infinity Broadcasting has planned to replace Stern.
