iHeartMedia has announced that Gator Harrison has been named Senior Vice President of Programming for the company’s Nashville stations. Bobby Bones Show Triggers EAS Panic

On Friday subscribers of AT&T’s Uverse Cable service in many markets found their systems in “Emergency Alert” mode due to an erroneous triggering of EAS. Affected viewers had their televisions locked on a local network affiliate with a banner stating “This is an Emergency Action Notification. Your channel has been force tuned to receive the Emergency Alert Message”. The only thing supposed to trigger such an alert is a national emergency. And it was triggered once before during a national EAS test on November 9, 2011. Which bring us back to Friday and the Bobby Bones Show. Earlier this week we lamented the continuing demise of the local night jock and Clear Channel has taken another step in that direction. Country “Q104.1” WTQR Greensboro, NC morning hosts Tige & Daniel will step down from that show after Friday, July 25 to launch a new national evening program based at 97.9 WSIX Nashville. The show will also be heard initially on WTQR, “B93.9” WKSL Raleigh, “94.9 TNT” WTNT-FM Tallahassee, and “G105.7” WSCG Augusta. Bobby Bones Moves From CHR To Country

Clear Channel’s syndicated Bobby Bones Show, based at “96.7 Kiss-FM” KHFI Austin, will transition from serving CHR to Country stations. The show is currently heard on 18 stations primarily in the central and southern parts of the country. The biggest of which is “Z107.7” KSLZ St. Louis. Bones will do his final show for CHR stations on Friday, February 8. In Austin, the show will move to Clear Channel’s 100.7 “KASE 101” while the program itself will become based at “The Big 98” WSIX Nashville.
