Chad Taylor Joins Cumulus As Des Moines Operations Manager

Cumulus Media has named Chad Taylor as Operations Manager for its five stations in Des Moines IA and afternoon host at Country “92.5 Nash Icon” KJJY. Taylor joins Cumulus from Townsquare Media St. Cloud MN where he served as OM and hosted mornings at Hot AC “Mix 94.9” KMXK since 2011. In addition to KJJY, he will oversee Classic Rock “95 KGGO” 94.9, Country “Nash-FM 97.3” KHKI, Classic Hip-Hop “98.3 The Vibe” KWQW, and Talk/Sports 1700 KBGG. 98.3 The Vibe Debuts In Des Moines

Cumulus Media has flipped Conservative Talk “98.3 The Torch” KWQW Boone/Des Moines to Classic Hip-Hop “98.3 The Vibe“. KWQW let go of local morning host Robert Rees following his show this morning. The rest of the station’s line-up featured syndicated talkers Glenn Beck, Jonathan Brandmeier, Michael Savage, Mark Levin, Steve Deace, and John Batchelor. The station registered a 1.0 share in the Spring 2015 Nielsen Audio ratings. The flip of KWQW continues a busy couple weeks in the Des Moines market where Saga Communications launched Sports “ESPN 1350” and Classic Country “93.7 The Outlaw” and moved Standards to FM “Legend 104.5“.

Update 4/21: KWQW relaunched as “98.3 The Torch” today as expected with all the changes telegraphed below coming true. New Program Director Robert Rees is hosting mornings from 5-9am. Glenn Beck is added from 9-11am and Dennis Miller from 11am to 2pm. The station is now positioning itself as “Common Sense Radio”.
