The Breakfast Club Debuts On 98.5 The Beat San Antonio

Univision Rhythmic CHR “98.5 The Beat” KBBT San Antonio has added Premiere Networks’ syndicated “The Breakfast Club” with Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy for mornings. The show replaces The Dana Cortez Show, which exited the company at the end of July for a syndication deal with ABC Radio that placed it on Alpha Media’s “Energy 94.1” KTFM in afternoons. The addition of The Breakfast Club also marks a change in strategy for Univision Radio, which until now had not relied on any outside syndication at their stations. Dana Cortez Show Makes Move To ABC/Skyview Networks

As expected ABC Radio and Skyview Networks announced their deal to bring former “98.5 The Beat” KBBT San Antonio morning show “The Dana Cortez Show” to syndication. Cortez’s program will be targeted at CHR, Rhythmic and Hip Hop stations and features herself, husband/producer DJ Automatic, and comedian Anthony Almanzar. Cortez joined KBBT for mornings in October 2015 after a long run at then sister “Kiss 97.3” KKSS Albuquerque. Cortez will announce her first batch of affiliates on Monday. Univision Makes Morning Changes In Three Markets

Update 10/21: Univision has set its replacements for the two cut San Antonio morning shows. Dana Cortez, who currently voicetracks middays at “98.5 The Beat” KBBT San Antonio and “Hot 105.7/100.7” KVVF/KVVZ San Francisco will be moved to mornings at both stations. Cortez is currently co-host of “The House Party” in mornings at Rhythmic CHR “Kiss 97.3” KKSS Albuquerque. At Tejano 107.5 KXTN, Bigg Boyee will move from mornings at sister Classic Hip-Hop “Yo 95.1” KMYO to be paired with Jammin J Javi. Homie Marco, PD of KBBT and KMYO adds those duties at KXTN.
