Bonneville Classic Rock “98.5 K-Fox” KUFX San Jose has hired ‘Joey V’ Vlazny-Smith as morning host starting Monday, April 16. Vlazny exited his position at Entercom Classic Hip-Hop “Q102.1” KRBQ in January where he served as Assistant Program Director, Imaging Director and Morning co-host. He has worked in the San Francisco market since 2005 with stops at Dance “Energy 92.7” KNGY, “Oldies 103.7” KOSF, and Country “95.7 The Wolf” KBWF. Current morning host Chris Jackson will move to afternoons, the daypart he originally hosted at when he joined the station in 1991. Entercom LMA’s Sacramento & San Francisco Stations To Bonneville

Bonneville International will LMA Entercom’s required spin-offs in Sacramento and San Francisco. Bonneville International will gain control of four of CBS’ five stations in Sacramento: AC “Mix 96” 96.1 KYMX, Hot AC “Now 100.5” KZZO, “New Country 105.1” KNCI, and “Sports 1140” KHTK. Bonneville also will operate four stations in San Francisco: CBS Radio CHR “99.7 Now” KMVQ and Entercom AC 96.5 KOIT, Classic Rock “98.5 K-Fox” KUFX, and Urban AC 102.9 KBLX. No sale agreements are in place yet as the licenses will be held by the Divestiture Trust. Entercom Narrows Down 16 Stations To Be Divested To Complete CBS Radio Merger

In order to complete its merger with CBS Radio, Entercom has agreed to divest sixteen stations in order to ensure regulatory approval. In a memo sent to CBS Radio employees CEO Andre Fernandez revealed that the following stations will be divested: Boston: CBS Radio’s News/Talk 1030 WBZ, Sports “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM, Classic Rock 100.7 WZLX and Entercom’s Talk 680 WRKO and Urban AC “The New 97.7” WKAF. Entercom Launches Q102 San Francisco

Entercom has broken the simulcast of Classic Rock “K-FOX” in the Bay Area. While the Classic Rock format remains on 98.5 KUFX San Jose, 102.1 KUZX San Francisco has flipped to Rhythmic Hot AC “Q102“. Billed as the “Beat of the Bay”, the station is focusing on 25-44 year old’s with a music mix from the 90’s through now. The station is launching commercial free through the month of August. Trevor Simpson has been named Program Director of the new station. Simpson spent a decade at “Wild 94.9” KYLD and has been a professional mixer and musician. DOJ Requires More Clear Channel Spinoffs

Update 2/14/08: Some reports on which stations must be spun-off. The Houston Chronicle states that 101.1 KLOL and either 94.5 KTBZ or 96.5 KHMX will be sold. John Kiesewetter of the the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the pair of 700 WLW and 107.1 WKFS or the pair of 92.5 WOFX and 94.1 WNNF will be sold in Cincinnati. We’ve also heard that 101.9 KWID will be the Las Vegas station, but nothing out of San Francisco that seems conclusive.
