99.5 Des Moines

Des Moines Area Frequency Shuffle Taking Place Tuesday

The first two steps in a three station move in the Des Moines market will take place on Tuesday, April 7. Positive Impact Media Christian AC “Pulse 99.5” KPUL Winterset will move to 101.7 with its existing 6kW at 100 meter facilities. That move will displace Iowa Public Radio’s Classical 101.7 K269EJ Des Moines to 97.7 as K249EJ also retaining its existing 250 watt at 91 meters signal rebroadcasting 88.9 KICJ Mitchellville. Those moves were mandated by the pending move of Truth Broadcasting’s Christian Preaching 99.3 KTIA-FM Boone to Huxley where it will rimshot into Des Moines with 5.3kW at 95 meters (Coverage Map). Northpine.com reports KTIA-FM’s move will take place “shortly after” KPUL and K269EJ make their moves.
