WTTS Promotes Brad Holtz To General Manager; Laura Duncan To Program Director

Sarkes Tarzian Inc AAA 92.3 WTTS Bloomington/Indianapolis IN has announced a series on management changes. Geoff Vargo will retire at the end of 2018 following a 37 years run in the position of President/General Manager. He will be replaced as GM by current Program Director Brad Holtz. Holtz has programmed WTTS since 2002 and later added those duties at News/Talk 1370 WGCL/W241CD Bloomington and Alternative “Alt 99.5” W258BY/WAJI-HD2 Fort Wayne. Giving Holtz time to move into his new position in January, current WTTS APD/MD/afternoon host Laura Duncan will immediately move into the PD role for WTTS/WGCL now and W258BY by the end of the year. Alt 99.5 Debuts In Fort Wayne

Sarkes Tarzian launched Alternative “Alt 99.5” W258BY/WAJI-HD2 at 12pm today. Branded simply as “Fort Wayne’s Alternative”, the new station is launching with the usual 10,000 songs-in-a-row commercial free. The station’s website describes the new station as: “From Green Day, Weezer, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Linkin Park to new music from X Ambassadors, Beck, Mumford Sons, Muse and Foo Fighters… Alt 99-5 is all about the music — free from the mindless chatter and free from the interruptions you hear on the other stations in town.” Brad Holtz, PD of sister AAA 92.3 WTTS and News/Talk 1370 WGCL Bloomington will add those duties at Alt 99.5 as well. Station Sales Week Of 4/17

Station Sales Amidst rumors of an acquisition by Alpha Media, Morris Communications is making an asset exchange in the Palm Springs market to remove a potential loss of a grandfathered asset. Morris will exchange Sports “Fox Sports 1270” KFSQ Thousand Palms, CA to Sunnylands Broadcasting for 95.5 KCLZ Twentynine Palms. Morris currently leases KCLZ from Sunnylands to rebroadcast Rock 93.7 KCLB Coachella and will lease back 1270 after the exchange closes. 95.5 KCLZ is technically part of the Victor Valley market allowing Morris to not lose any of its grandfathered holdings following a sale.
