Bert Show Signs New Cumulus Media Deal; Moves Syndication To Westwood One

Cumulus Media has agreed to a new deal with Bert Weiss and the syndicated “Bert Show” to keep the program based at CHR “Q100” 99.7 WWWQ Atlanta and move the show’s syndication to Westwood One. The Bert Show has anchored mornings at WWWQ since its launch in 2001. The deal will transfer the syndication distribution of the show from Yea Networks to Westwood One including the show’s growing podcast network. Q100 Atlanta Launches Q-U Social Video Site

Cumulus Media CHR “Q100” 99.7 WWWQ Atlanta is launching a second web-platform “Q-U” dedicated to video content based on listener submissions. Davi Crimmins Promoted To Bert Show Co-Host

YEA Networks has announced that Davi Crimmins has been promoted to co-host of the syndicated Bert Show based at Cumulus CHR “Q100” 99.7 WWWQ Atlanta alongside Bert Weiss and Kristin Klingshirn. Crimmins has spent her entire career with Cumulus Atlanta and The Bert Show. She began as an intern and gradually moved up to Board Operator, Writer, Phone Screener, and most recently Producer. Rob Roberts Named Cumulus VP/Hot AC; Louie Diaz Q100 Atlanta PD

Two Cumulus Media programmers are swapping stations as Rob Roberts is promoted to Vice President/Hot AC for the company. As part of his promotion Roberts will relocate to Washington DC and add day-to-day PD duties for Hot AC “Mix 107.3” WRQX. Louie Diaz, who has programmed WRQX for the past year, will head to Atlanta as Operations Manager for the market and PD of CHR “Q100” 99.7 WWWQ. Roberts joined then 100.5 WWWQ and Alternative “99X” WNNX in May 2006 as Operations Manager. He added PD duties for Q100 stations in January 2008 ahead of its frequency swap and flip of WNNX to Rock. WWWQ Atlanta Flagged For Potential Ratings Distortion

In the release of the April PPM monthly released yesterday, Nielsen Audio flagged Cumulus CHR “Q100” 99.7 WWWQ Atlanta was slapped with a notice for attempting to identify potential PPM panelists. Prior the the ratings period starting the station held an online contest that originally asked participants “If you were asked to be in a radio ratings project that required you to carry a device that recorded all your radio listening would you do it?”. One of the responses to choose said “Yes, in fact I’m participating in a ratings project right now”. Nielsen stated that Cumulus cooperated in their investigation and that no panelist identity was learned. Bert Show Divorce Moves To Domain Squatting

Jeff Dauler’s exit from the syndicated Bert Show this week is turning ugly. Dauler resigned on Tuesday Morning after fourteen years with the show to join Entercom Hot AC “Star 94” WSTR Atlanta in February 2016. Perez Hilton Goes National For Cumulus

Cumulus has announced that Perez Hilton will host a nationally syndicated night show starting May 21. “Perez Nights Live” to be co-hosted by CHR “I93.3” KLIF-FM Dallas morning host Adam Bomb will run from 7-11pm nightly starting May 21. The show will debut on more than 50 Cumulus stations that had been running Dial-Global’s Billy Bush Show including I93.3, “Q100” WWWQ Atlanta, 104.1 KRBE Houston, and 96.3 WDVD Detroit. The show will also be available to non-Cumulus stations.

Q100 Atlanta To Move to 99.7, 99X To Go Online

Update 1/25/08: The change is now complete. At 5:30am, 99X signed-off with Green Day’s “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” while relaunching as 99x.com. After simulcasting Q100’s “Bert Show” all week, the simulcast ended at 6:00am with 100.5 airing a loop of Beyonce singing “To The Left” and Bert Weiss letting listeners know that Q100 is now on 99.7. At 10:00, 100.5 began a stunt of eight possible formats for listeners to vote for. We expect the stunt to last at least through the weekend if not a little bit longer before the debut of Rock 100.5.
