Mapleton Acquires Opus’ Louisiana Stations

Mapleton Communications will expand into Louisiana with the purchase of Opus Broadcasting’s stations in Alexandria and Monroe. The $2.2 Million purchase includes seven stations between the two markets as well as assumption of a Time Brokerage Agreement and a Joint Sales Agreement with two others. Two Bridges Crossing Louisiana

Two Christian AC’s branded “The Bridge” are launching in Louisiana. Opus Broadcasting debuted “104.3 The Bridge” KEZP Bunkie/Alexandria on June 21. The station had been running Christian programming as “EZ Praise 104.3” since earlier this year when it dropped its Conservative Talk format. On the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain, New Horizon Christian Fellowship has begun testing “88.7 The Bridge” WOTB Pearl River. The 100kW Class C1 will rimshot New Orleans when it officially launches later this month.
