WTTS Promotes Brad Holtz To General Manager; Laura Duncan To Program Director

Sarkes Tarzian Inc AAA 92.3 WTTS Bloomington/Indianapolis IN has announced a series on management changes. Geoff Vargo will retire at the end of 2018 following a 37 years run in the position of President/General Manager. He will be replaced as GM by current Program Director Brad Holtz. Holtz has programmed WTTS since 2002 and later added those duties at News/Talk 1370 WGCL/W241CD Bloomington and Alternative “Alt 99.5” W258BY/WAJI-HD2 Fort Wayne. Following an informal objection and request for enforcement by Connoisseur Media, Edgewater Broadcasting has withdrawn its Construction Permit and License to Cover applications for 96.3 K242CI Casper WY to relocate to 102.5 in Billings MT. Edgewater had applied for and was granted a CP to move K242CI to Billings rebroadcasting Sun Mountain Inc.'s 1340 KBSR Laurel MT where it was operating as AC "Magic 102.5". Connoisseur claims that K242CI and 104.5 K283CP (licensed to rebroadcast 1450 KYLW Lockwood MT) have been operating illegally. My Joy Returns Home In Bloomington IN

Spirit Educational Radio has moved its Southern Gospel “My Joy 101.1” WMYJ-FM Bloomfield/Blommington IN back to its former 88.9 Oolitic IN frequency. WMYJ-FM had been on 88.9 until December 2013 when the 101.1 signal signed-on. The two stations have swapped call letters with 101.1 becoming WDCK as “The Christmas Station” until debuting a new format on Monday, January 2, 2017. 101.1 WDCK is licensed to Mid-America Radio Group, which like Spirit Educational Radio is also owned by David Keister. Keister also owns Christian AC “Spirit 95” 95.1 WVNI Nashville IN/107.7 W299BD Bloomington.

Moves made by Educational Media Foundation and Bob Stevens’ Broadcast Communications in recent months have now converged as the two groups agree to exchange three stations and a translator. Broadcast Communications and subsidiary Broadcast Educational Communications will send Silent 88.1 WKJL Clarksburg, WV and 106.9 WRIJ Masontown, PA/Morgantown, WV to EMF in exchange for 95.9 WDKL Grafton, WV and 95.3 W237CX Bridgeport, WV. Broadcast Communications acquired both stations from He’s Alive, Inc. last year for a combined $375,000. EMF applied earlier this month to relocate WDKL to Loch Lynn Heights, MD which will enable it to become BCI’s fourth station serving the Oakland, MD market. The proposed tower site is used by a few translators as well as auxiliary sites for WUBL, WWPW, WWWQ, and WNNX. WRAS seeks to operate with 50kW at 318 meters. Clear Channel seeks to move two of its Dallas market signals to their auxiliary antenna permanently. 102.1 KDGE Fort Worth-Dallas and 102.9 KDMX Dallas will remain in the Cedar Hill area with 100kW while increasing their height from 485 to 535 meters above average terrain. Mid-America Radio Group is moving Southern Gospel “My Joy 88.9” WMYJ-FM Oolitic/Bloomington, IN to new sign-on 101.1 WDCK Bloomfield. The two stations swapped call letters on December 4 in preparation of the move. 101.1 is a new signal that signed on in late November playing All-Christmas music. Both stations are owned by David Keister, with 88.9 licensed to Spirit Educational Radio. The group also operates Christian AC “Spirit 95” 95.1 WVNI Nashville, IN/107.7 W299BD Bloomington.
