Langer Broadcasting’s Brokered Urban AC “1410 The Bass of Boston” WZBR Dedham/Boston MA will use its translator launch in the coming days to rebrand as “98.1 The Urban Heat“. The station will continue to feature former New Edition singer Ralph Tresvant in afternoons. The 130w/128m 98.1 W251CR Medford signal will cover Boston and its direct northern suburbs.

Medha Ghandi Joins Elvis Duran Show

WEEI Boston Swaps Midday & Afternoon Shows

Entercom Sports 93.7 WEEI-FM Boston and its eight station network is debuting a new on-air lineup on Monday, August 13 as it rearranges its midday and afternoon talent. Midday hosts Glenn Ordway, Lou Merloni and Christian Fauria will move to the 2-6pm timeslot currently held by Dale Arnold and Rich Keefe, who will make the reverse move to 10am-2pm. The move is being done to bring Ordway and Arnold back to the dayparts they are most associated with. Both men were part of WEEI’s original lineup when it flipped to Sports in 1991, Arnold co-hosted middays with various partners from then until 2011 when he moved to weekends. AM Changes As Marshfield Broadcasting prepares to restore 1510 WMEX Boston, the company has applied to diplex the station with 1260 WBIX Boston. While currently licensed under an STA to operate with 1kW daytime from the WBIX site, WMEX has now applied to operate with 10kW daytime, 2kW critical hours, and 100 watts at night while changing city-of-license to Quincy. The four tower array where WMEX was licensed with 50kW was not included in the sale of the station last year.
