Jim Day & Amanda Orlando Take Mornings At Warm 98 Cincinnati

Cumulus Media has made a change in mornings at AC “Warm 98” 98.5 WRRM Cincinnati. Exiting after nearly six years are husband & wife duo Bob Goen and Marianne Curan. The former Game Show Network hosts (and he of Entertainment Tonight fame) joined WRRM in 2012. Jim Day and Amanda Orlando will take their places starting Monday, August 20. Day had been serving as morning show producer at WRRM for the past year and previously hosted mornings at WHKO-FM Dayton, KWEN-FM Tulsa, and WSM-FM Nashville. WNKN Joins Classic Country Simulcast With WNKR

Grant County Broadcasters has relaunched 105.9 WNKN Middletown OH as a simulcast of their Classic Country 106.7 WNKR Williamstown KY. The new “Classic Country 105.9 & 106.7” will focus on Country hits from the 1960s up until 2007. The move brings back the format that was heard on then “Rebel 105.9” WPFB-FM prior to its acquisition by Northern Kentucky University in 2011. The existing WNKR lineup of Larry B in mornings, Gina Matthews in middays, and Program Director Peter Z in afternoons remains in place. The final piece of the former AAA network based at 89.7 WNKU Highland Heights KY/Cincinnati OH signed off this evening. 105.9 WNKN Middletown OH ended programming at 6pm as new owner Grant County Broadcasting takes over with the intent to debut its new format on Monday, October 2. Grant County purchased WNKN in July for $5.3 million to pair with its existing Classic Country 106.7 WNKR Williamstown KY but is keeping what it intends to do with the station close to the vest. Following Louisville Public Media’s statement regarding the failed purchase attempt for 105.9 WNKN, Northern Kentucky University Director of Public Relations Anna Wright released the following statement: “Northern Kentucky University is in the middle of an active process to sell WNKN-Middletown, and the Board of Regents is pleased with the process. Bible Broadcasting To Acquire WNKU Cincinnati

Nearly a year after stating they plan to explore selling AAA 89.7 WNKU Highland Heights KY/Cincinnati and its two simulcasters, Northern Kentucky University has announced it has agreed to sell two of the signals to religious operators. 89.7 WNKU will be sold to Bible Broadcasting Network for $1.9 million. Simulcast 104.1 WNKE New Boston OH, which serves the Huntington WV/Ashland KY/Portsmouth OH market will go to Educational Media Foundation for $700,000 plus 75% of the proceeds from EMF divesting 94.9 WEKV South Webster OH. The university has yet to accept an offer for its third station, 105.9 WNKN Middletown OH, which serves the northern half of the Cincinnati market and Dayton. Longtime KAMX Austin morning co-host Sandy McIlree is joining Hubbard Radio AC “Mix 94.9” WREW Cincinnati’s “Morning Misfits”. McIlree will join incumbent hosts Ray Anderson and Karen Van Zant at WREW. McIlree is best known for the 18 years he spent with JB Hager at “Mix 94.7” KAMX Austin along with a brief simulcast on 100.3 KRBV Dallas in 2001-2002. He and Hager also had a brief run together at AAA “105.3 The Fringe” K287FG Austin in 2014-2015, while McIlree hosted golf talk show “Beemer & the Bald Guy” with Rich Beem in syndication and SiriusXM.
