KBPI Moves To 107.9 As Three Station Trimulcast In Denver, Fort Collins & Colorado Springs

A shuffle that started out with two stations in Cheyenne WY will now have its ramifications felt as far south as Pueblo CO. As we previously reported iHeartMedia Active Rock 106.7 KBPI has begun its move to 107.9. The station will be heard on not only 107.9 K300CP Denver and the soon-to-be former KPAW Fort Collins, but also replaced the similar Active Rock format of “Z107.9” KDZA-FM Pueblo/Colorado Springs. The move creates a KBPI trimulcast stretching nearly along the entire Interstate 25 corridor in the state of Colorado and into the Cheyenne WY market as well. The station will simulcast on 106.7 through the end of the year before a new format is launched. KCME Colorado Springs Launches Jazz Translator

Cheyenne Mountain Public Broadcast House Classical 88.7 KCME Manitou Springs/Colorado Springs will launch “Jazz 93.5” K228EM/KCME-HD2 on Sunday, October 29. The station’s launch is timed to take place during the annual Colorado Springs Jazz Party with a live remote launch at noon. K228EM was moved in from Woodland Park and will operate with 170w/-157m covering Colorado Springs proper.

All Beatles “890 Yesterday” Launches In Colorado Springs

We’ve seen an All-Beatles stunt format many times over the years. Timothy Cutforth’s 890 KJME Fountain CO is apparently trying to make it a permanent format. “890 Yesterday” replaced NBC Sports Radio in late 2016 with programming consisting of nothing but Beatles music. KJME is carrying the syndicated “Breakfast with The Beatles” hosted by Dennis Mitchell on Sunday mornings.

Mountain Country Debuts In Colorado Springs

Mountain Radio Group has flipped its recently acquired 1530 KQSC and 107.3 K294CH Colorado Springs CO to Country “Mountain Country“. The station is focusing on what it considers “traditional country” as well as Red Dirt Country normally only heard in Texas and Oklahoma. Owner Dave West previously spent eleven years overseeing Air Force Academy’s cadet-run “97.7 KAFA” and ten years on-air for Jones Radio Networks. He purchased then Silent 1530 KKHI last summer for $200,000. KQSC staffers includes Derek Shane and Jason Laird serving as on-air hosts and sales personnel. Lo Harris is on-air and Public Relations Director.
