Jack Taddeo Joins Cumulus Des Moines As Market Manager

After exiting his position as Market Manager for NRG Media’s Cedar Rapids IA stations earlier this month, Jack Taddeo is joining Cumulus Media as VP/Market Manager for their Des Moines IA cluster. Taddeo has previously served in many programming and management roles during his career including programming 93.9 WLIT Chicago, serving as SVP/Programming for SFX Broadcasting, Capstar, and Clear Channel, and General Manager for Entercom Norfolk and NextMedia and Matrix Broadcasting in suburban Chicago. He has also owned stations in Illinois and Wisconsin and ran his own consultancy. People Moves 5/28: Entercom Makes Market Manager Changes In Pittsburgh & Washington

Entercom continue to revamp the markets it acquired from CBS Radio as two more Market Managers have exited the company. The Philadelphia Business Journal confirms that Steve Swenson has exited as head of the company’s Washington DC cluster, a role he had held under CBS since 2011 after previously overseeing that company’s two All-News stations in New York. Phil Zachary, who moved from Entercom Boston to his native Hartford upon completion of the merger, will now relocate to Washington. Zachary oversaw Classic Rock 94.7 WARW and Alternative 99.1 WHFS for CBS Radio from 1996-2001 before becoming President/COO of Curtis Media Group. FCC Report 4/22: Agency To Adjust Translator Interference Rules

The FCC is proposing an adjustment of its rules in regards of translator interference complaints. In partially adopting a rulemaking originally proposed by the National Association of Broadcasters and Aztec Capital Partners, the FCC would allow translator causing interference to make a change to any available frequency as opposed to just the minor changes allowed now. It will also require six legitimate interference complaints as opposed to just the one with all complaints required to demonstrate that they are a "regular listener" and is not connected to the affected station. Translators would also be protected if the interference claim comes from outside the affected station's 54dBu contour. Saga Communications continues the roll-out of its “Pure Oldies” brand to what it likes to call metro signals as 104.5 K283CC Des Moines/103.3 KAZR-HD2 Pella IA drops Conservative Talk for 1950s/60s Hits. Des Moines becomes the third market to debut the new brand following Ithaca NY and Springfield IL at the start of February. Like Springfield, K283CC’s 1950s/1960s format will flank Saga’s existing Classic Hits station in the market: 93.3 KIOA.

With the change in frequency, iHeart has relaunched the station as “96.9 The Bull“. The Bull features The Bobby Bones Show in mornings, Billy Greenwood in middays, local host Nick Bruns in afternoons, and Michael J in evenings.
