Bigfoot Expands In North Central Pennsylvania

Seven Mountains Media has closed on its $285,000 acquisition of AC “Yes-FM” 96.9 WVYS Ridgebury/107.3 W297BG Ulster PA from GEOS Communications and has flipped them to a simulcast of “Bigfoot Country 104.5” WNBT-FM Wellsboro. The newly minted “Bigfoot 104 – 107 – 96” expands it coverage to cover Sayre and Waverly as well as portions of the Elmira NY market. With the closing of the sale and format change, WVYS has changed call letters to WZBF. The former AC format continues on 103.9 WDYS Dushore PA, which was not included in the sale. Seven Mountains Media operates four unique “Bigfoot Country” simulcasts across ten frequencies in Central Pennsylvania.

Equinox Launches Alternative & Rhythmic CHR In Elmira

Equinox Broadcasting has launched a pair of new HD fed translators in Elmira NY. Alternative “93 The Drive” has launched on 93.1 W226BA Elmira/WPHD-HD3 duplicating the format and branding used at 100.5 WDRE Binghamton NY. Another Binghamton brand and format is being cloned on 102.9 W275AB Elmira/WPHD-HD2. Rhythmic CHR “Hot 102.9” creates a competitor to market-leading CHR “Wink 106.1” WNKI. Haystack Broadcasting, who had been operating KRSX via LMA, is assigning its LMA and agreement to purchase the station to Gorge Country Media. After nearly ten years of leasing Spanish Christian “Genesis 680” WGES St. Petersburg FL, Vision Communications Network is acquiring the station from ZGS Broadcasting for between $550,000 and $610,000 depending on how quickly they pay off the promissory note. Community Broadcasters Expands Into Elmira & Olean

Bruce Mittman and Jim Leven’s Community Broadcasters Inc. has announced the acquisition of Backyard Broadcasting’s seven stations in Elmira-Corning and Olean, NY. Terms for the acquisition have yet to be disclosed. The seven stations will join Community’s existing eight stations in Watertown and Ogdensburg, NY.
