Robert Ingstad, Todd Ingstad, and Tallie Ingstad Colville are buying out the 25% stake of sister Tanya Ingstad Knudson in I3G Radio for $50,000. The three remaining siblings will increase their holdings in the company from 25% to 33.3%. I3G Radio LLC owns Farm “AG News 890” KQLX and Farm/Country “Thunder 106.1” KQLX-FM Lisbon/Fargo ND. I3G Radio will then purchase cousin Brooke Ingstad’s Radio Wahpeton-Breckenridge’s Country 1450 KBMW and Hot AC “B92.7” KBMW-FM Breckenridge MN for $925,000. Station Sales Week Of 9/30: KAHM Goes To La Campesina

The Cesar Chavez Foundation’s Farmworker Educational Radio Network is continuing its growth in Phoenix with the purchase of Southwest FM Broacasting’s Beautiful Music 102.1 KAHM and 101.7 K269EE Prescott and Southwest Broadcasting’s Talk 1490 KYCA/97.1 K246BI/103.5 K278CN Prescott AZ for $2.5 million through a new Phoenix Radio Broadcasting holding company. Phoenix Radio Broadcasting will pay $1.7 million for KAHM and K269EE and $800,000 for co-owned KYCA/K246BI/K278CN. KAHM holds a Construction Permit to relocate to Spring Valley AZ from the tower utilized by Riviera Broadcasting’s “Power 98.3” KKFR Mayer with 25.5kW/852m that requires the move of 94.3 KBUX Quartzsite AZ to 96.5 (now completed) and 101.9 KVGG Salome to 96.5. Midwest Launches Jack In Fargo

Midwest Communications flipped AC “Mix 101.9” KRWK Fargo ND to Variety Hits “101.9 Jack-FM” at 12:00 this morning. The move eliminates the only AC station in the Fargo market and positions KRWK between Radio FM Media’s Hot AC “Big 98.7” KLTA and Radio Wahpeton Breckenridge Classic Hits “106.9 The Eagle” KEGK. With the move to the jockless brand, no word just yet on the status of the KRWK airstaff including morning hosts Scotch Anderson, Britta Lee, and JJ, middayer Ryan Kelly and afternoon host Dan Michaels. More Secret Format Changes Of 2016

A couple weeks ago we rounded up a number of format changes that took place under the radar. Since that report we’ve been tipped off to a number of additional changes. Shortly after Point Broadcasting closed on its acquisition of Rock 99.1 KXFM Santa Maria CA on August 31, the station dropped its format and is currently running a jockless/commercial-free version of the Rhythmic Oldies “Old School” format it operates on 104.7 KOCP Oxnard and 104.7 KQIE Redlands/Riverside and a few other stations in Southern California. The various arms of the Ingstad family have closed on their acquisitions of three Fargo area stations. Brooke Ingstad’s Radio Wahpeton-Breckenridge, daughter of Radio Fargo-Moorhead owner James Ingstad, has closed on her purchase of Classic Hits “106.9 The Eagle” KEGK Wahpeton/Fargo and has merged its programming with that of “92.7 The Drive” KZDR Kindred. KZDR is in the process of moving to Breckenridge MN where it will relaunch as “B92.7” KBMW-FM with a yet to be announced format. Robert Ingstad, Tallie Colville, Tami Ingstad Knudson and Todd Ingstad’s I3G Radio (standing for Ingstad 3rd Generation) have closed on their purchase of News/Farm 890 KQLX and Country “Thunder 106.1” KQLX-FM Lisbon ND concurrently.

A deal involving three members of the Ingstad family will lead to Classic Hits “92.7 The Drive” KZDR Kindred/Fargo ND from moving out of the market. Robert Ingstad’s Mediaactive LLC is selling KZDR to his niece Brooke Ingstad’s Radio Wahpeton Breckenridge for $275,000. Brooke Ingstad is in the process of acquiring Full Service Country 1450 KBMW Breckenridge MN from her father James Ingstad’s Radio FM Media for $300,000 and 100.7 K264AY Chamberlain SD for $35,000. KZDR has applied to relocate out of the Fargo market to Breckenridge MN as well. The station seeks to downgrade from a Class C3 to Class A in the process with 6kW at 46 meters. KQWB Dumps Classic Country For Fox Sports

Days after Midwest Communications brought Classic Country to FM in Fargo with the launch of “104.7 Duke-FM” KMJO, Radio FM Media has dropped the format from “Willie 1660” KQWB West Fargo. KQWB is now running the national Fox Sports Radio feed surprisingly under the name “Fox Sports 1660“. This is the second time the station has utilized a Sports format in recent years. It was “1660 ESPN” from 2007 until 2012, when it flipped to Oldies and then Classic Country.

Midwest Flips Two In Fargo

Midwest Communications has made a pair of format changes in Fargo, ND this afternoon. Active Rock “Rock 102” 101.9 KRWK Fargo is no more as that frequency has become AC “Mix 101.9” assuming the branding of 104.7 KMJO Hope. That in turn allows 104.7 to become Classic Country “104.7 Duke-FM“. Both KRWK and KMJO had picked up their now former formats within days of one another in September 2013 as KRWK flipped from News/Talk and KMJO from Variety Hits.

Fargo’s Bob Expands Eastward To Detroit Lakes

94.7 KSKK has completed its move to Frazee and is now simulcasting Country “Bob 95” 95.1 KBVB Barnesville, MN/Fargo, ND as 94.5 KDLB. The former AC format and KSKK call letters have moved to 1070 KVKK Verndale replacing its Talk format.
