Nancy Dymond Returns To Cumulus Flint As Market Manager

Cumulus Media has hied Nancy Dymond as its Vice President/Market Manager for its Flint MI stations. Dymond joins Cumulus from Community Broadcasters Watertown NY where she also served as Market Manager. This marks a return to the cluster for Dymond, who served in the same role from 2000 through 2004 when it was owned by Citadel. She has also managed clusters in Lansing and Saginaw MI, Toledo OH, and Erie and Susquehanna Valley PA during her career. Dymond fills the position most recently held by Ed Leick under Regional VP Chris Monk, who rejoined the company earlier this year. After exiting his position as Vice President/Market Manager of Adams Radio Fort Wayne, Chris Monk has been named Regional Vice President for Cumulus Media’s Flint and Saginaw MI and Market Manager for Saginaw. Monk previously ran those stations under previous owner Citadel from 2007-2012. Cumulus Media has promoted two programmers in Flint MI. August Wallace, PD/Midday Host of Urban AC “Z92.7” WDZZ, adds on the role of Operations Manager for the Flint cluster. She has worked WDZZ since 2007 and has served as PD since 2011. Meanwhile Tim Shickles has been appointed Program Director for Country “Nash-FM 95.1” WFBE and “Sports Xtra 1330” WTRX. Shickles currently hosts afternoons at WFBE. He succeeds April Rose as Program Director. WRSR Owosso/Fint MI Sold

The second of three stations required by the Department of Justice in order to facilitate the Cumulus/Citadel merger has been sold. Classic Rock “103.9 The Fox” WRSR Owosso/Flint MI has been spun-off to Krol Communications according to the Owosso Argus-Press. Krol owns Classic Country 1520 WMLM Ashley and Hot AC “Z92.5 The Castle” WJSZ St. Louis MI. The Potential Broadcasting trust recently sold Country “Red 102.3” WCAT-FM Carlisle PA and still needs to sell 92.1 WTPA Palmyra/Harrisburg PA.

DOJ Approves Cumulus/Citadel Merger Pending Additional Spinoffs

Update 9/15: The Harrisburg frequency swap will take place tonight in front of the closing of the merger. CHR “Hot 92” WWKL will become “Hot 93.5”, while Classic Rock WTPA goes in reverse to 92.1. 92.1 WTPA and Country “Red 102.3” WCAT-FM will operated by a trust separate from the rest of the Cumulus spinoffs. Update 9/12: We now know the identities of the additional station(s) required to be spun-off by Cumulus to satisfy the DOJ. The Flint Journal identified Classic Rock “103.9 The Fox” WRSR as the Flint station. In Harrisburg, the already planned spin-offs of 92.1 WWKL and 102.3 WCAT-FM will satisfy the DOJ with one caveat.
