AM Changes As Marshfield Broadcasting prepares to restore 1510 WMEX Boston, the company has applied to diplex the station with 1260 WBIX Boston. While currently licensed under an STA to operate with 1kW daytime from the WBIX site, WMEX has now applied to operate with 10kW daytime, 2kW critical hours, and 100 watts at night while changing city-of-license to Quincy. The four tower array where WMEX was licensed with 50kW was not included in the sale of the station last year.
Pharis Broadcasting has moved the programming of “Fox Sports 103.1” KHGG-FM Waldron AR to 1580 KHGG/101.1 K266BS Van Buren/Fort Smith replacing Country “101.1 The Judge“. 103.1 KHGG-FM has been taken silent for what Pharis states is “Maintenance and Repairs” in its STA filing with the FCC. The 101.1 translator puts a stronger signal over Fort Smith than the 103.1 rimshot whose 60dBu signal does not reach Fort Smith itself. InsideFortSmith.com reports that Alma High School sports will move to sister “96.7 The Marshall” 1230 KFPW/96.7 K244FJ, while KHGG will continue to be the home of Van Buren High School and University of Arkansas-Fort Smith sports.
Station Sales Impact Radio Group will swap Sports “ESPN Boise” 730 KNFL Boise ID, 92.7 K224EP Boise, and the CP for 106.7 K294DC Boise to Kevin Terry’s Radio Rancho LLC. for 99.1 K256CZ Boise and $35,000. Radio Rancho owns two other FM’s in the Boise market, while Impact will own 1 AM, 4 FMS, and 3 translators in the market upon closing of this deal. The current formats will not be involved in the deal. Radio Rancho is also selling 95.7 KMGR Gunnison UT to Sanpete County Broadcasting for $50,000. Cumulus has transitioned 100.7 KLSZ-FM Fort Smith AR from its Nash Icon brand to its flagship Nash brand as “100.7 Nash-FM“.
