Zazza & Cheree Get Syndicated To Mobile & Fort Walton Beach

Cumulus Media is syndicating Tony Zazza and Cheree Carter’s morning show based at CHR “107.1 WA1A” WAOA Melbourne FL to sister stations “Z96” 96.5 WZNS Fort Walton Beach and 97.5 WABD Mobile AL. “Zazza Mornings with Cheree” will debut on both stations on Monday, September 26. In both markets the current morning shows will move to another daypart. At WZNS Gilligan will move from mornings to 9am-2pm, with Hayden adding the 2pm hour to his afternoon show. In Mobile, John Marty moves from mornings to afternoons while Program Director Sid Kelly shifts from afternoons to middays. Both stations carry the syndicated Zach Sang Show at night. Community Broadcasters Acquires Fort Walton Beach Cluster

Community Broadcasters will pay $5.9 million for the four Fort Walton Beach stations it is acquiring from Apex Broadcasting. Community will also begin to operate the stations via Time Brokerage Agreement on Monday, June 27. The station will adjust from a Class C with 100kW at 381 meters to a C1 with 89kW at 315 meters. Cochise Broadcasting is attempting to change a pair of its Arizona stations. Ticket Expands In Florida Panhandle

Omni Broadcasting has closed on its $135,000 purchase of “93.5 Rocks” WPBH Port St. Joe, FL from Clear Channel’s Aloha Stations Trust. With the sale’s closure the station has flipped to a simulcast of new sister Sports “100.3 The Ticket” WTKE-FM Niceville/Fort Walton Beach under new WTKP call letters.

WFFY & WMXZ Fort Walton Beach Undergo Changes

Update 3/2: WMXZ will become Rock “103.1 The Blaze” WZLB when it debuts its new format at 5pm Central. Update 2/28: 103.1 is now promoting that its new format will launch on Friday, March 2 at 5:00pm. Behind construction sounds the station is teasing such lines as “This Friday at 5 we’re gonna burn up your radio” and “Can you feel the heat? Don’t get burned?” It looks like we’ll have to scratch as a possibility. That is now pointing to a domain squatter and has been put up for auction. Update 2/19: WFFY has changed calls to WECQ.
