After time as Adult Standards, AAA, and Soft AC, One Putt Broadcasting’s “105.5 K-Jewel” KJWL San Joaquin/Fresno CA has now shifted to 80s based Classic Hits. Now positioning as “Fresno’s Greatest Hits”, the new format positions the station up against Art Laboe’s Rhtyhmic leaning Classic Hits 94.3 KOKO and Cumulus Media’s Rhythmic Oldies “Mega 97.9” KMGV. KJWL had picked up its now former Soft AC format when it moved from 99.3 and dropped its AAA “Jewel-FM” identity in January 2017.

The bankruptcy sell-off of Casa Media Partners has come to an end as Lazer Broadcasting agrees to acquire its remaining seven radio stations and one translator for $1.7 million. Lazer will acquire the “La Maquina Musical” Regional Mexican network of 100.5 KMQA East Porterville/Visalia/Bakersfield, 100.5 KMEN Mendota, 103.1 KAAT Oakhurst/Fresno, 100.9 KAEH Beaumont/San Bernardino, 103.7 KIQQ-FM Newberry Springs/Barstow and 1310 KIQQ Barstow as well as Soft AC “Soft Hits 1060” KTNS Oakhurst/Fresno and 104.3 K282AE Oakhurst (with CP to move to 107.9 in Victorville rebroadcasting KIQQ). Nine years after exiting the Program Director position at “93.7 Kiss County” KSKS Fresno, Steve Pleshe will return to the Cumulus Country station in that role effective May 7. Cumulus Adds Armstrong & Getty In Four Markets

Cumulus Media has picked up the syndicated Armstrong & Getty on its Talk stations in Albuquerque, Fresno, Salt Lake City, and Ventura. The KSTE Sacramento based program will now be heard in mornings 1050 KTBL Albuquerque, 860 KKAT Salt Lake City and “SportsRadio 1450” KVEN Ventura. Classic Rock 102.5 WOLD-FM and CHR “Z103.5” WZVA go from TEC2 Broadcasting and TECO Broadcasting respectively to CDM for $651,039. Univision has swapped formats at two of its three Fresno CA stations. Regional Mexican “La 92.1” KOND Clovis moves to 107.5 Hanford as “La Jefa 107.5“. That move gives KOND coverage of the adjacent Visalia market as well as Fresno. Concurrently Spanish Adult Hits “107.5 Mas Variedad” KRDA moves in reverse to 92.1 as “Amor 92.1“. In the Spring 2016 Nielsen Audio ratings KOND was eighth in the Fresno market with a 3.9 share. KRDA was fifteenth with a 2.5 share.

Jason Hurst Jumps To KSOF Fresno Mornings
