As part of its bankruptcy restructuring plan Cumulus Media will be forced to divest four stations as it loses its grandfathered status. Cumulus did not disclose any new details of its restructuring plan with the FCC, rather using it to try to gain pre-approval from the commission to eliminate any delay as it attempts to get out of bankruptcy as quickly as possible. The company states that outside of its officers and directors only one party will have attributable interest in the company with one unnamed company having the right to vote nearly 11% of the Class A Common Stock of the restructured company. Cumulus Media launched its new format on 106.7 WKRU Allouez/Green Bay WI following its Christmas Music run as the station debuted its new identity as Classic Rock “106.7 The Big Dog” at 6pm this evening. With the previously announced Bob & Tom Show debuting on Tuesday, the new format gives a Green Bay market competitor to Woodward Communications’ 105.7 WAPL Appleton. Woodward Communications CHR “95.9 Kiss-FM” WKSZ De Pere/Green Bay WI is adding a simulcast on 92.9 WKZY Chilton/Appleton on Monday, Februrary 15. WKZY currently simulcasts Woodward’s 80s/90s Hits “KZ 104.3” WKZG Seymour. Along with the simulcast changing, WKSZ will also bring morning hosts Doug Erickson & Mary Love back over from WKZG. Doug & Mary joined WKZG when the station debuted its current format in December 2012. With their move to WKSZ, the current morning show of Precious and Nikki is no more. Precious will move to nights replacing the current voicetracking in the timeslot while Nikki moves to sales for the company.
