Toshamakia Moves To KS107.5 As MD/Afternoon Host

Toshamakia Acevedo is moving to Denver as Music Director and afternoon host at Entercom Rhythmic CHR “KS 107.5” KQKS-FM Lakewood/Denver CO. Acevedo joins KQKS from sister “102 Jamz” WJMH Greensboro NC where she served as afternoon host, but had also voicetracked middays at KQKS. She joined WJMH in 2011 as morning co-host before moving to her current afternoon slot. Over the past couple weeks a round of staff downsizing and transfers out of the region took place in iHeartMedia’s Virginia-Carolina Region. While normally layoffs being made at iHeartMedia are considered to be “business as usual” for many in the industry, multiple sources have indicated to us that there may be something else at play here. iHeart’s Virginia-Carolina Region was created in 2016 and includes eleven markets in three states: Harrisonburg, Lynchburg, Norfolk, Richmond, Roanoke, and Winchester VA, Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, and Raleigh NC, and Greenville SC. That brings the amount of stations he has acquired this week from Davidson Media up to 12. iHeartMedia shifted Alternative “105.7 The Buzz” WVBZ Clemmons/Greensboro, NC to Rock branded just with the “105.7” frequency at 6am today. In two deals announced this week, Eastern Airwaves will acquire four translators from Wake Forest University while making a one for two swap with Educational Media Foundation. In the Wake Forest deal, Eastern Airwaves will acquire 104.7 W284BN Greensboro, and the Construction Permits for 94.5 W233BY, 96.5 W243DH, and 99.5 W258CL all in Boone for $190,000.
