Oldies 98.3 Debuts In NW Mississippi

John and Lynn Allen have closed on their $150,000 purchase of 98.3 WDFX Cleveland MS from American Family Association and have relaunched the station as “Oldies 98.3“. With new WBYB call letters in place, the station is currently airing a mix of Christmas music and Oldies with a planned focus on 1960s and 1970s hits. John Allen owns 49% of Delta Radio Network which owns five stations in the Greenville/Greenwood area of Northwest Mississippi and operates three others owned by Delta CEO Larry Fuss.

Nearly three years after selling CHR “U93” 92.9 WNDV-FM South Bend, “Rock 97.7” WYXX Goshen, and 1980s Hits 102.3 WYET New Carlisle IN to Sound Management LLC, Artistic Media Partners is reacquiring the three stations for $3.4 million. Sound Management had paid $3.5 million for the stations in October 2014, but the owners of that company also make up the management and part of the ownership of Artistic. The deal reunites the three FMs with Standards 1620 WDND South Bend and two FMs in Bloomington IN. WIBT Greenville MS Moves To 97.9; Gospel Returns To 104.7

Delta Radio Networks ended its LMA of Mondy-Burke Broadcasting’s 104.7 Greenville MS at the start of 2017 leading to the return of its previous Gospel format. The Urban “104.7 The Beat” WIBT format and call letters became “97.9 The Beat” replacing AC “Lite 97.9” WLTM. This marks the third frequency for WIBT, as it aired on 105.5 Indianola MS until moving to 104.7 in July 2014. With the LMA over, Mondy-Burke flipped 104.7 back to the Gospel format it held prior to the LMA start and its former WJIW call letters.

Q102 Expands In Western Mississippi

Delta Radio Network CHR “Q102” WIQQ Leland/Greenville, MS has expanded to cover Cleveland, MS. WIQQ is now simulcasting on the new-to-air 101.7 WZYQ Mound Bayou. The Class A signal broadcasts from the tower of sister Country “Kix 92.1” WKXY Merigold as it becomes Delta’s second station serving Cleveland, MS. WIQQ itself is seeking to expand its coverage to cover Cleveland as it applied in March to move to 102.1 while increasing from a Class A to C3.

Christmas Comes Early In Greenville, MS

Mondy-Burke Broadcasting Gospel 104.7 WJIW Greenville, MS has dropped its format and is currently stunting with secular Christmas Music as Delta Radio begins operating the station via LMA. Upon completion of the stunting, Delta Radio will move Urban “105.5 The Beat” WIBT Indianola to 104.7. was registered by Delta Radio owner Larry Fuss last month and currently redirects to WIBT’s website. 105.5 has changed call letters to WNOU, while the WIBT calls have been reserved for WJIW.
