Cherry Creek Radio and The Montana Radio Company have completed their multi-market swap and divestitures in Butte, Great Falls, and Helena MT leading to multiple format changes in those markets. In Butte, Cherry Creek has added previously Silent 107.7 KMTZ Walkerville to their cluster there and has launched the station as Variety Hits “107.7 Dave-FM“. Apex Broadcasting sells Gospel “Heaven 1390” WSPO Charleston SC and their translator CP 100.1 W261DG to John Cardillo’s Chatter Media for $375,000. Cherry Creek Radio flipped their Classic Country stations in two markets to Variety Hits “Dave-FM“. The new Variety Hits format takes the place of “Helena’s Gold Country” KHGC Montana City/Helena MT as “98.5 Dave-FM“, while replacing “Big Classic Country” on 106.1 KXFF Colorado City/99.1 K256CD Cedar City/101.9 K270BV St. George UT. Both stations are using the same music logs.

For $2.7 million Big Radio Pro purchases Standards 103.3 KZPO Lindsay/Visalia from the Estate of Linda Ware, the CP for 100.1 KNGS Coalinga from William Zawila, the CP for 106.9 KAAX Avenal from Avenal Educational Services, the CP for 94.7 KYAF Firebaugh from Central Valley Educational Services, and the CP for 102.1 KZPE Ford City/Bakersfield from the Estate of H.L. Cherry Creek Buys One In Helena; Takes Two Dark

Cherry Creek Radio is making changes to its Helena, MT cluster. On Wednesday, November 5, News/Talk simulcast 1240 KBLL Helena and 1340 KCAP Helena will go dark. To take their places Cherry Creek has agreed to purchase Standards “Classy 950” KMTX/96.3 K242BB Helena from Montana Radio Company. The KCAP call letters and the News/Talk format will move to 950/96.3. Following the sale Montana Radio Company will still have four FM’s in the Helena market, while Cherry Creek Radio will have one AM and four FM’s.

Montana Radio Company launched Active Rock “Rock 106.5” KKRK Helena Valley SE, MT today. The station will be programmed by Kit Mann, PD of sister AC 105.3 KMTX-FM. The syndicated Free Beer & Hot Wings show will air in mornings. KKRK spotlights bands such as Seether, Shinedown, Static X, and Volbeat as core artists.
