Stephens Media will pay $10.725 million for Ingstads’ twelve stations and two translators in Kennewick/Richland/Pasco and Yakima WA. Original Report 4/2: Stephens Media Group has agreed to purchase fourteen stations in the Kennewick/Richland/Pasco and Yakima markets from Ingstad Radio Washington for an undisclosed price. The deal will bring the Tulsa based Stephens up to 41 stations nationally including their home market and Rochester and Watertown NY. Stephens began operating the stations via LMA on Sunday, April 1. KQFO has dropped its three-month old Classic Rock “Oz 100.1” identity for Variety Hits as “Bob 100.1“. The station was previously AAA “Oasis 100.1” from February through December 2016. Despite what the Envision Networks press release below and other sites state, KQFO serves the Tri-Cities of Kennewick/Richland/Pasco and not Yakima. Alexandra Communications has flipped AAA “100.1 The Oasis” KQFO Pasco/Kennewick/Richland WA to Classic Rock “OZ 100“. The new format duplicates the format and branding of recently launched sister “OZ 95.7” 1330 KYOZ/K239CL Spokane. It creates a direct format competitor to Ingstad Radio Washington’s “Eagle 106.5” KEGX Richland. The AAA format had debuted in February of this year when the station moved from 93.7 to 100.1. The AAA format will continue to be heard in the nearby Walla Walla market on 104.5 K283BU/KZIU-HD4 although that translator has a CP to relocate to 103.5 in Spokane.

Ingstad Radio Washington has flipped Classic Country 960 KALE Kennewick WA to AC “106.1 More-FM” with the sign-on of 106.1 K291BS Richland WA. Starting with the 10,000 songs-in-a-row, KALE gives a direct competitor to Cherry Creek Radio’s “Mix 105.3” KONA-FM. Ingstad purchased the CP for K291BS from Alexandra Communications in July 2015 for $80,000.
