CFMK Revamps As 96.3 Big-FM

As expected CFMK relaunched as Classic Rock “96.3 Big-FM“. Just like sister CJKR Winnipeg, CFMK is branded as “Big Hits & Real Classic Rock”. The new brand brings some lineup changes as Ange Stever moves from morning co-host to middays. Operations Manager Rudy Chase remains in mornings with Jenn. Rae Kelly moves from middays to nights. Corus Launches National Fresh Radio Brand Across Canada

Corus Radio has rebranded seven of its AC and Hot AC stations across Canada as “Fresh Radio“. Five of the stations were previously using a similar “Fresh-FM” branding while the other two were branded as “Hits” prior to today. WLYK Shifts To CHR

Rogers Media has flipped AC “102.7 The Lake” WLYK Cape Vincent NY/Kingston ON to CHR “Kiss 102.7“. Now branded as “Kingston’s #1 Hit Music Station”, it is running with 10,000 songs in a row. The move comes just one year after WLYK segued from Adult Standards to AC. With the format change, WLYK morning host Jack Thompson has announced his retirement from radio. The new format places the station in direct competition with Bell Media’s “98.3 Fly-FM” CFLY.

Rogers Launches Canadian Country Brand

Update 7/3: Rogers completed the rebranding of the remainder of their FM Country stations to the “Country” moniker. “Y101” CKBY Smiths Falls/Ottawa is now “Country 101.1“, “Kix 93.5” CKXC Kingston is now “Country 93.5“, and “Q104” CJQM Sault Ste. Marie is now “Country 104.3“. The changes bring identical logos and imaging to the stations.
