Entercom has announced the appointment of Pail iHander as Program Director for News/Talk 840 KXNT and “CBS Sports 1140” KXST North Las Vegas NV. Ihander joins KXNT/KXST from Bonneville Phoenix where he served as Assistant Program Director and News Director for 92.3 KTAR-FM and “Arizona Sports 98.7” KMVP-FM since 2012. Lee joins KLUC from iHeartMedia in Lexington KY where she hosted middays at Rock “97.7 WTF” 1580 WWTF/97.7 W249DJ Lexington and CHR “Lake 102.3” WLLK Somerset KY as well as weekends at Classic Rock 100.1 WKQQ Lexington. 101.5 Lite-FM Las Vegas Flips To KDWN Simulcast

Beasley Media has flipped Soft AC “101.5 Lite-FM” K268CS Las Vegas/KCYE-HD2 to a simulcast of Conservative Talk 720 KDWN. The move brings Conservative Talk programming to FM in Las Vegas for the first time since CBS Radio ended the simulcast of 840 KXNT and 100.5 KXNT-FM in 2015. KDWN registered a 1.1 share in the May 2018 Nielsen Audio Ratings, placing it behind KXNT’s 2.0 share. The Soft AC format of 101.5 was unlisted in the publicly available Nielsen Audio ratings. Kemp Broadcasting is flipping Sports “670 The Score” KMZQ Las Vegas to Conservative Talk on Thursday, March 1. To be branded as “The Right Talk”, the station will carry Salem Radio Network hosts Mike Gallagher 6-9am, Dennis Prager 9am-12pm, Michael Medved 12-3pm, and Larry Elder 3-7pm in addition to Westwood One’s Jim Bohannon 7-10pm. The station becomes the fourth Conservative Talker in the market joining Entercom’s 840 KXNT, Beasley’s 720 KDWN, and Ed Stolz’ 790 KBET. The company also announced that it is rebranding as “Kemp Broadcasting and Digital Outdoor” as it continues to add billboards in Las Vegas. People Moves 1/22: WTVN Afternoon Host John Corby Dies

John Corby, afternoon host at iHeartMedia News/Talk 610 WTVN Columbus OH died over the weekend at the age of 61. Corby spent two stints at WTVN, first from 1984-1997 and then returning as afternoon host in 1997 until now. In between he spent three years at 1020 KDKA Pittsburgh hosting an evening Sports show. Corby was off the air last week with an undisclosed illness and his cause of death has not been revealed. WTVN has compiled some of Corby’s best bits on its website. Entravision made format changes in twelve markets Monday as it has eliminated the Spanish Adult Hits “José” brand from its portfolio along with its final Spanish CHR “Super Estrella” station. Two of the markets where José had operated have flipped to Regional Mexican “La Tricolor“.
