NRG Media has flipped 94.5 K233AN/107.3 KBBK-HD2 Lincoln, NE to CHR “Red 94.5“. The 250 watt translator had been rebroadcasting sister News/Talk 1400 KLIN. Positioned as “Lincoln’s New Music”, Red is launching with the usual 10,000 songs in a row. The Lincoln Journal-Star reports that core artists will include Arianna Grande, Sam Smith, Iggy Azaela, Avicii, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Calvin Harris, Rihanna and John Legend. Caleb James joins from “U93” WNDV South Bend where he served as APD/MD/Afternoon Host as Program Director. The new format brings a second CHR to Lincoln as it joins Digity Media’s 102.7 KFRX.
NRG Media News/Talk 1400 KLIN Lincoln, NE has made the move to FM with the addition of a simulcast on 94.5 K233AN. NRG acquired the translator earlier this year from Mission Kansas and has upgraded the translator to 250 watts from the top of the US Bank Building in downtown Lincoln. In the Fall 2011 ratings, KLIN ranked tied for fourth in the market with a 7.1 share.
Hope Christian Church of Marlton, NJ’s partnership with CBS has already brought Modern Rock “HFS” back to life on 97.5 W248AO Baltimore. Two of Hope’s other Baltimore area translators are making moves to improve their signals in the market. 98.3 W252BR Edgemere, MD has applied to move from the southeastern side of Baltimore to the southwestern side near Ellicot City, MD where it would operate with a directional 250 watts to prevent interference to 98.5 WYCR York, PA. 98.3 will be fed via the currently non-existant HD4 subchannel of CBS’ 101.9 WLIF.
