Good Karma Brands has leased Spanish Sports “ESPN Deportes 1580” WTTN Columbus WI to Michael Krute’s New WTTN LLC, which has flipped the station to Liberal Talk simulcasting Liberal Talk “Resistance Radio 1580” WRRD Waukesha/Milwaukee. The 5kW day/800w critical hours WTTN covers the areas north of Madison, but has a pending application for a translator on 92.7 that will cover Madison proper. Shady Returns To 93.1 Jamz Madison As Morning Co-Host

Midwest Family Broadcasting Rhythmic CHR “93.1 Jamz” WJQM De Forest/Madison WI has imported Shady back from nights at sister CHR “Live 99.9” WQLQ Benton Harbor MI/South Bend IN as co-host of the newly renamed “Krista & The Morning Rush”. Shady fills the opening created by Marco’s departure last fall to move to mornings at West Virginia Radio Corp’s 97.5 WKMZ Hagerstown MD. He joins host Krista Hatcher and producer Aaron White on WJQM’s morning show. Prior to joining WQLQ for its launch in 2016, Shady served as overnight host and producer of Holmes & The Freak Show in nights at WJQM.

Madison Host To Purchase Milwaukee AM; Flip To Liberal Talk

Michael Crute, co-host of the Madison WI based syndicated talk show “The Devil’s Advocates” has announced the purchase of Spanish Sports “ESPN Deportes 1510” WRRD Waukesha/Milwaukee from Good Karma Broadcasting. WRRD will flip to Liberal Talk on Wednesday, February 1 with a lineup including his Devil’s Advocates in afternoons plus Bill Press, Stephanie Miller, Thom Hartmann, and Free Talk Live. WRRD operates with 23kW daytime, but no nighttime authorization. Crute and co-host Dominic Salvia hosted afternoons on iHeartMedia’s “92.1 The Mic” WXXM Madison until the station dropped its format the day after Election Day in November. Chase Daniels Named Entercom Madison OM

Chase Daniels, PD/MD of Entercom Hot AC “107.9 The Mix” WNTR Indianapolis and afternoon host of sister CHR 99.5 WZPL is transferring to Madison as Operations Manager for the company’s three stations. Daniels will oversee Classic Hits 94.9 WOLX, Hot AC “Mix 105.1” WMHX and AAA 105.5 WMMM. Daniels has been with Entercom since joining WNTR in June 2013. He previously worked at multiple stations in Jacksonville and Hot AC “Star 94” WSTR Atlanta as well as serving as remote Music Director for Alternative “Radio 104.1” WMRQ Hartford.

David Moore Named KSLX Phoenix Program Director

David Moore is exiting his position as Operations Manager for Entercom Madison to join Hubbard Classic Rock 100.7 KSLX Scottsdale/Phoenix as Program Director. Moore had been with Entercom since September 2006 where he oversaw Classic Hits 94.9 WOLX, Hot AC “Mix 105.1” WMHX, and AAA “105.5 Triple M” WMMM. He previously programmed WFYV Jacksonville and WOCT Baltimore. He fills the position previously held by Jim Owen prior to his exit in December. The AM/FM split between Sports stations in Madison has been broken as Clear Channel’s “The Big 1070” WTSO adds an FM translator on 100.9 W265CV Madison. WTSO joins Good Karma’s “ESPN 100.5” WTLX Monona and Midwest Family Broadcasting’s “The Zone” 1670 WOZN Madison/106.7 WOZN-FM Mount Horeb on the FM band in the market. WTSO is the only one of the three to subscribe to Nielsen Audio; registering a 1.9 share in the Spring 2014 ratings. WTSO’s local programming also airs in Milwaukee on sister 920 WOKY.

FCC Applications 12/9: Cumulus Rescinds WOKI Frequency Change

In May, Cumulus News/Talk 98.7 WOKI Oliver Springs/Knoxville, TN proposed a mutually exclusive upgrade which would see the station relocate to 98.3. This week Cumulus has requested that WOKI’s application be dismissed as well as the requested moves of the other stations involved. Central Florida Educational Foundation is proposing a major upgrade to 88.7 WMYZ Clermont, FL. The Class A station currently operates with 1.2kW at 106.7 meters and seeks to rise to a Class C2 with 31kW at 113.4 meters. WMYZ simulcasts sister Christian AC “Z88.3” WPOZ Union Park/Orlando. Entercom has purchased 95.7 W239BF Greece, NY from Family Life Ministries for $150,000. True Oldies Leaves For Hank In Madison

Midwest Family Broadcasting has flipped Oldies “HitRadio 1550” WHIT Madison to Classic Country “Hank“. The station, which is an AM daytimer, had been running Cumulus Media Network’s True Oldies Channel. It registered a 0.0 share in the spring and summer ratings. The new format can be sold as an add-on or flanker for sister Country “Q106.3” WWQM. The Hank format comes from Envision Radio Networks.

Clear Channel Announces Additional Stations For Bobby Bones Rollout

As Bobby Bones made his debut at new flagship WSIX Nashville, Clear Channel has revealed more stations that will debut the show over the next couple weeks.
