ESPN New Hampshire Flips To Oldies

Absolute Broadcasting has pulled the plug on Sports “ESPN New Hampshire” 900 WGHM Nashua/1250 WGAM Manchester NH and flipped the station to Oldies as “Oldies Radio WGAM“. The stations had been carrying a mix of local and national programming including ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike in mornings, Fox Sports Radio’s Dan Patrick Show from 9am-12pm, and local shows hosted by Christian Arcand and Tom King from 12-3pm, and Jimmy Murphy from 3-6pm. The Sports simulcast under various names dated back to 2006. The two stations have been listed for sale on radio brokerage sites for months.

Saga Brings Outlaw To New Hampshire

Saga Communications has broken up its “Hot Hits New Hampshire” simulcast 94.1 W231BR Manchester/103.1 W276BJ Concord NH to launch Country “103.1 The Outlaw“. Joining its similar gold based Outlaws in Asheville, Clarksville TN, Des Moines, and Springfield IL, the station is using the same “Legends & Young Guns” positioning. It joins Townsquare Media’s 97.5 WOKQ and Binnie Media’s “93.3 The Wolf” WNHW in the Concord market in the Country arena. The CHR format remains on W231BR/95.7 WZID-HD2 Manchester, while the Outlaw is fed by WZID-HD3.

Howie Carr Takes Curt Schilling Into Syndication

Regionally syndicated Boston based Conservative Talker Howie Carr is adding the first program to the Howie Carr Radio Network. Former MLB pitcher and ESPN baseball analyst Curt Schilling will debut a nationally syndicated talk show to air on Saturday mornings from 9am-12pm eastern. The Curt Schilling Show will debut on Saturday, September 10 focusing on current events” ranging on politics to sports. The Boston Globe reports that Saga Talk 1370 WFEA Manchester NH has signed on as the first affiliate of the program. Schilling was fired from ESPN following multiple incidents in violation of the company’s social media policy due to his extreme right wing viewpoints.

WQSO Rebrands; Merges With WGIR

Clear Channel News/Talk “96.7 The Wave” WQSO Rochester/Portsmouth, NH has rebranded as “Newsradio 96.7“. The rebranding comes along with a realignment of the station’s on-air schedule to completely match that of sister News/Talk 610 WGIR Manchester. Together the pair are branding as the “New Hampshire News Network“. Jack Heath, former VP/News Director of WMUR-TV has joined both stations for mornings. He will be followed by the Premiere Radio Networks trinity of Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity. The Daily Wrap, White House Brief, and Ground Zero With Clyde Lewis round out the stations lineups.
