Cumulus Media has rebranded Classic Rock “95 Rock” 95.9 WROK-FM Sebastian/Melbourne FL as “95.9 The Rocket“. Outside of changing the positioning to “Space Coast’s Classic Rock Station”, no major changes accompanied the rebranding. WROK-FM continues to be one of the remaining affiliates for the syndicated Bubba The Love Sponge in mornings. Covering the southern half of the Melbourne-Titusville-Cocoa market, WROK-FM registered a 0.9 share in the Fall 2017 Nielsen Audio ratings.
On the heels of adding Bubba The Love Sponge for mornings, Genesis Communications News/Talk 820 WWBA Largo/Tampa FL and sister 1060 WIXC Melbourne has added Erik Kuselias for 1-3pm. The former ESPN Radio and NBC Sports Radio host will continue to host mornings on sister “Sports Talk Florida” 1040 WHBO Pinellas Park/Tampa and 1080 WHOO Kissimmee/Orlando in addition to the new early afternoon show on WWBA and WIXC. Cumulus Media is syndicating Tony Zazza and Cheree Carter’s morning show based at CHR “107.1 WA1A” WAOA Melbourne FL to sister stations “Z96” 96.5 WZNS Fort Walton Beach and 97.5 WABD Mobile AL. “Zazza Mornings with Cheree” will debut on both stations on Monday, September 26. In both markets the current morning shows will move to another daypart. At WZNS Gilligan will move from mornings to 9am-2pm, with Hayden adding the 2pm hour to his afternoon show.
