99.7 MyFM Debuts In Monroe

The Radio People’s Classic Country 1680 KRJO Monroe LA has signed-on an FM Translator 99.7 K259CU Monroe and flipped to Hot AC. The new “99.7 MyFM” will fill the format gap between Mapleton Communications’ AC “Sunny 98.3” KZRZ and CHR “103.1 Now-FM” KNNW. The station is featuring local morning show hosted by former 94.7 KIXY San Angelo TX night host Dave Maxwell and Tonya Lied.

KQLQ Relaunches As 103.1 Now-FM

Update 9/17: After a day and half of stunting, KQLQ relaunched its CHR format as “103.1 Now-FM” at 12pm today. Mapleton Acquires Opus’ Louisiana Stations

Mapleton Communications will expand into Louisiana with the purchase of Opus Broadcasting’s stations in Alexandria and Monroe. The $2.2 Million purchase includes seven stations between the two markets as well as assumption of a Time Brokerage Agreement and a Joint Sales Agreement with two others. After about 18 months as Gen X Hits “99.3X“, KPCH Ruston/Monroe, LA will revert to its previous 60s/70s Classic Hits format as “The Peach 99.3” on Sunday, July 1. The outgoing format will remain online and the station promises to be more active on social media and a broader playlist of songs from the 80’s through 2000’s.
