Craven Community College’s Public Radio East will realign the programming on its network of stations on Monday, February 5. 89.3 WTEB New Bern NC will move from a mix of Classical Music, Americana/Folk, and NPR’s Morning Edition and All Things Considered to Public News/Talk outside of the Americana/Folk show “The Sound” in evenings. 88.1 W201AO Greenville, 88.5 WZNB New Bern, 90.3 WKNS Kinston, and 91.5 WBJD Atlantic Beach will move in reverse from Public News/Talk to 24/7 Classical. The 99kW WTEB covers most of the Greenville/Jacksonville/Kinston/New Bern market while the other four signals reach the population centers.
After less than than four months in existence, NextMedia Variety Hits “92.3/101.1 Jack-FM” WQSL Jacksonville/WQZL Belhaven/New Bern, NC has hit the road. At 12pm this afternoon the duo flipped to a young-end skewing Country format as “The Wolf“. The new format flanks sister Country 95.1 WRNS Kinston. The stations are in the process of being sold by NextMedia to Digity. 92.3 WQSL and 101.1 WQZL debuted the Variety Hits format on August 29 following a brief Oldies stunt. Previously, 92.3 was Urban AC “The Touch” and 101.1 was Variety Hits as “Sam-FM“. The new format currently has no online presence as the station’s webstream and social media pages were purged along with the flip.
