WCLT Radio Inc. will flip Sports “1430 The Ticket” WCLT/W254CT Newark OH to AC “Kate 98.7” at 12pm today. The Newark Advocate reports the station will feature core artists including Elton John, Adele, Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, Celion Dion and Phil Collins. WCLT will continue to carry Ohio State University basketball and football and high school sports and add live concerts from the Thirty One West venue in Newark.
Just east of Columbus, Runnymede has flipped Talk 790 WHTH Newark OH to Country “Buckeye Country“. The flip comes following the sign-on of 107.7 W299CG Newark to bring WHTH’s programming to FM. The translator operates with 250w/29m and comes following Runnymede’s purchase and move of the translator from Mansfield OH. Runnymede also owns Classic Hits “Kool 101.7” WNKO New Albany. WHTH is also available on WNKO-HD2.
WCLT Radio has launched Rock “104.7 The Big Lick” W284CH/100.3 WCLT-HD2 Newark, OH. Branded as “Licking County’s Rock Station”, the station is focusing on Rock hits from the 80s through today. WCLT Radio President/GM Doug Pricer told the Newark Advocate, “We conducted an extensive third party research study to make sure we launched the correct format in Licking County. The path was very clear. Besides the country position that we already own, the number two radio position in Licking County was rock.” WCLT Radio, Inc. acquired the Construction Permit for 104.7 W284CH from Mount Vernon Nazarene University last November for $43,500.
