Lake Broadcasting Inc. agrees to purchase News/Talk 1340 WFEB and 100.9 W265DV Sylacauga AL from Powers Broadcasting Company for $150,000. The buyer, who owns “Kowaliga Country 97.5” WKGA Goodwater AL, began operating the station via Time Brokerage Agreement on August 1 and flipped the station to AC “B101” this week. After beginning to operate 88.1 WCRJ Jacksonville FL via LMA on August 1, Radio Training Network will purchase the station from Chesapeake-Portsmouth Broadcasting for $2.25 million. Update 6/4: RDA Broadcast Holdings has closed on its purchase of 99.5 WBXY LaCrosse/Gainesville and begun simulcasting Adult Standards “Gold 99” 99.7 WGMA Silver Springs Shores/Ocala. The station is utilizing Westwood One’s America’s Best Music programming feed. When RDA closes on its purchase of 99.5 WBXY La Crosse/Gainesville from JVC Broadcasting, the station will begin simulcasting WGMA. While no application for the call letters has been made, the station’s website identifies 99.5 as WGMW.

After 10 days and 47 bidding rounds, the FCC has completed its auction of 112 new FM allocations. The highest bid went to Robinson Entertainment, LLC which paid $2,015,000 for a Class A at 100.3 in Lake Park, FL. That station will cover West Palm Beach and is headed by Nicholas “Dick” Robinson, the Founder/CEO of The Connecticut School of Broadcasting. $452,000 gave Denise Esserman a Class C3 allocation for 93.7 in St. Simons Island, GA. Esserman is a practicing lawyer in adjacent Brunswick, GA, however her husband Eddie is owner of Country “104.1 The Wave” WRJY and Adult CHR “Magic 105.9” WXMK in the market along with serving as a broker for Media Services Group. 850 WRUF Gainesville Adds ESPN; Ocala Simulcast

The University of Florida’s “SportsRadio 850” WRUF Gainesville and SportsTalk LLC’s “ESPN Radio Ocala” 900 WMOP/100.1 W261BA Ocala have announced a partnership that will see the two stations merge their programming effective Friday, June 29. The new “ESPN 850/900” lineup will consist of: 6am-10am: Mike & Mike 10am-12pm: Adam Reardon (Was 8-10am on WMOP) 12pm-2pm: Sportscene With Steve Russell (Was 7-9am on WRUF) 2pm-4pm: Scott Van Pelt 4pm-6pm: Larry Vettel (Was 3-6pm on WRUF) 6pm-7pm: The Cheap Seats (Was 6-7pm on WRUF) All other times: ESPN Radio programming or University of Florida/High School Play-By-Play WMOP programming had been heard in Gainesville on 1230 WGGG.
