Stratemeyer Media launched Alternative “103.3 The Bridge” W277CH Paducah KY in late January. Positioned as “Western Kentucky’s Only Alternative”, the new format flanks sister “Rock 98.3” WJLI-FM Metropolis IL. Reed Phillips, Operations Manager for Stratemeyer’s cluster and morning co-host at WJLI-FM, serves as Program Director for the station. The Paducah Sun reports states the station is bridging (pun intended) the gap between Alternative and AAA with deeper album cuts from artists such as Twenty One Pilots and emphasizing new artists.

River Country Debuts In Paducah

Stratemeyer Media launched Country “River Country 97.5” 750 WRIK Brookport IL/97.5 W248CP Paducah KY. Featuring a mix of current and classic Country artists, the new format positions WRIK between Bristol Broadcasting’s 93.3 WKYQ and “Willie 102.1” WLLE. The new 250w/141m signal of W248CP was made possible by the AM Revitalization translator waiver which brought the former 100.3 W262BA Spencer IN to Paducah. Radio Assist Ministry is transferring 69 translators to sister company Edgewater Broadcasting for no cost. Both groups are run by Clark Parrish. Longport Media is purchasing 92.5 W223CO Atlantic City, NJ from Susan Clinton for $26,000. W223CO will rebroadcast News/Talk 1400 WOND Pleasantville. 94.7 WQQR Reveals A New Mix

Update 1/1: After two months of stunting with Christmas music, WQQR flipped to AC “94.7 The Mix” this morning. Mark Ryan remains in mornings from the previous Classic Rock format, with Brian Mitchell taking afternoons. WJLI Fills Classic Rock Void In Paducah

Five days after Bristol Broadcasting’s 94.7 WQQR dropped Classic Rock to stunt with Christmas music, Stratemeyer Media has filled the Paducah market’s newly created Classic Rock void. Adult CHR “Jelli 98.3” WJLI Metropolis, IL segued to Classic Rock a little after 5:00pm this afternoon while retaining its previous branding and the Reed & JC morning show. WJLI utilizes the Jelli service for listeners to select music in evenings. The station had flipped from AC “K98.3” to Adult CHR last December.

Jelli 98.3 Debuts In Paducah

Update 12/28: WRIK relaunched as Adult CHR “Jelli 98.3” WJLI on December 26. The station will utilize the Jelli user controlled service from 6pm to midnight daily, with the rest of the lineup staffed locally. The rest of the new lineup features Reed & JC in mornings, Theresa Brown in middays, and Jenna McKay in the afternoon. The station previously aired John Tesh in mornings. After applying in October to 104.7, the translator has amended its application to stay on 106.3 albeit from a new location in Long Island City, Queens with lower power. If accepted it will operate with 40 watts with city grade coverage over the bulk of Manhattan. Instead of rebroadcasting Clear Channel’s 106.7 WLTW-HD2, the application changes the originating station to 93.5 WVOX New Rochelle, NY. EMF Broadcasting has applied to move 91.9 W220DM Parma, OH to 92.7 due to displacement from WKJA Brunswick, OH.
