Oldies & Beat Move To New Homes In Pine Bluff

PB Radio has swapped format locations for two of its four stations in Pine Bluff AR. Urban “101.3 The Beat” KPBA Pine Bluff has moved to the 99.3 signal that was previously home to “Super Oldies 99.3” KHUC. The Oldies format moves to the stronger Class C3 facility with a rebranding. The newly minted “Oldies 101.3” comes with new KDPX call letters to match the “Deltaplex News” moniker the cluster is branding itself with. 99.3 KHUC (soon to receive the KPBA calls) is a Class A operating with 6kW/46m. 101.3 KDPX operates as a Class C3 with 13.5kW/137m. PB Radio To Take Over Four Pine Bluff Stations From Paul Coates & Mike Huckabee

Paul Coates and Mike Huckabee’s Bluff City Media will lease their four stations in Pine Bluff to Mike and Alpha Horne’s PB Radio starting Sunday, April 1. Mike Horne has managed the four station cluster for Bluff City Media since December 2016 and will now take over their full operations via an LMA with an option to buy. He told Arkansas Business, “My good friend Paul Coates brought me down here to kind of get them out of trouble. Everybody thinks Pine Bluff is a losing situation, but the town has gotten a bad rap. We’re doing well, and the people are optimistic. Bluff City Media Launches Trio In Pine Bluff

Bluff City Media is in the process of launching three new signals in Pine Bluff, AR. The company, owned by Paul Coates and former Arkansas Governor/Republican presidential candidate/syndicated talk show host Mike Huckabee, purchased One Media’s three construction permits in the market earlier this year for $40,000 and a 20% stake in the company. The first station launched was News/Talk 99.3 KHUC in April. That was followed last week by Urban “101.3 The Beat” KPBA. A third station 98.1 KTPB received its station license last week and will feature a Classic Country format when it fully launches. Cup O’Dirt LLC is selling 80s Hits “Sunny Radio” 1520 KZOY/92.1 K221FO Sioux Falls, SD to Charles Brennan’s Badlands Airtime, LLC for $1.5 million. Not included in the sale are the current “Sunny Radio” format, intellectual property and KZOY call letters, which will remain with Cup O’Dirt and continue on their 1250 KZOI Dakota City, NE. Speaking on KZOI, Cup O’Dirt is also acquiring 97.5 K248ZY Sioux City, IA to rebroadcast the station. First Ventures Capital Partners will receive $50,000 for the translator and file an application within the next 30 days to relocate the translator to KZOI’s tower site.
