Alpha Media has announced another affiliate for the newly syndicated Dana Cortez Show as it adds it for mornings at Rhythmic CHR “We 96.3” KWEE West Linn/Portland. The show will debut on Monday, August 27 in the 6-10am timeslot and follows the addition of the show at “Energy 94.1” KTFM San Antonio and American General Media’s “Kiss 97.3” KKSS Albuquerque yesterday. Alpha Media AAA 101.9 KINK Portland has announced that Cort Johnson is returning to the station as Assistant Program Director/Afternoon Host. Johnson co-hosted mornings on KINK until April 2017 before moving to sister News/Talk 101.1 KXL as a reporter and anchor. He was then appointed National Digital Content Producer for Alpha Media in March. Prior to coming to Portland in 2011, Johnson served as APD/Morning Host at Alternative “107.5 The End” KENZ Salt Lake City. After beginning to operate a Portland AM via LMA earlier this year, Salem Media is acquiring one of them outright. Salem will swap 1300 KKOL Seattle to Tron Dinh Do’s Intelli LLC in exchange for 860 KPAM Troutdale/Portland OR. Intelli purchased KPAM and 1550 KKOV Vancouver WA in 2017 for $1.2 million. Upon closing of the sale, Salem began operating KPAM as Conservative Talk “860 The Answer” and Intelli flipped KKOV from Adult Standards to its Vietnamese programming.
Salem Media has adjusted the brands and programming lineups at three of its Portland OR AMs. Talk 860 KPAM Pamplin, which Salem begin operating via LMA earlier this year, has rebranded as “860 The Answer“. With the rebranding KPAM has trimmed an hour off of its morning show hosted by Tim Hohl and Terry Travis to run from 6-9am. That allows the station to add a third hour of Salem’s Dennis Prager Show which will now run from 9am-12pm. From 12-3pm the station swaps out the Clark Howard Show for Laura Ingraham. Afternoon host Scott Smith moves to middays to reteam with Kelli Caldwell in the 11am-4pm/8am-1pm slot replacing Mike Kankelfritz who left in November. Sheila Hamilton has exited her position as afternoon anchor at Alpha Media News/Talk 101.1 KXL-FM Portland. Hamilton co-hosted mornings at sister AAA 101.9 KINK from 2002 until April 2017. She added anchoring duties for KXL’s 4-7pm news block in 2016. She came to radio after working as a reporter at television stations in Salt Lake City and Portland from 1984-2000. Hamilton told Willamette Week that she is waiting until final negotiations have been resolved to issue a statement explaining what happened.

Alpha Media Sports “750/102.9 The Game” KXTG Portland/K275CH Gresham OR has cut its local afternoon show hosted by Justin Myers and DeVon Pouncey. Myers and Pouncey were first teamed at KXTG in June when they were paired for the 9am-12pm show. Myers had previously co-hosted afternoons with Noah ‘Chop’ Homsley from February through June until the brief tenure of Dino Costa in that daypart. Homsley, who serves as Assistant Program Director at KXTG, had been filling in again in afternoons until this week. The station is now going with CBS Sports Radio programming in both dayparts.
