iHeartMedia News/Talk 1530 KFBK Sacramento/93.1 KFBK-FM Pollock Pines CA has announced that Christina Mendonsa will join the station as morning co-anchor. Mendonsa previously spent 21 years as an anchor at “ABC 10” KXTV Sacramento until her contract was not renewed last year. She will join incumbent co-host Dan Mitchinson on the KFBK Morning News starting August 27. The arrival of Mendonsa means the end of Amy Lewis’ second tour with KFBK. Lewis worked at KFBK from 1993-2000 and returned as morning co-anchor in 2006. In between she had a brief sting in mornings at KABC Los Angeles and Metro Networks. Entercom has stayed in-house to appoint new SVP/Market Managers in Pittsburgh and Sacramento. Pittsburgh Director of Sales Michael Spacciapolli has had the Interim title removed from the Market Manager position he has held since Michael Young’s exit in May. Spacciapolli has served as Director of Sales for the former CBS Radio cluster since 2008 and previously worked as Sales Manager for Bonneville Washington DC and as a national representative for Katz Radio Group. APD/Morning host Tony Tecate, Music Director/midday host Bre Ruiz, afternoon host Short E, and acting PD Randy Fox have all exited the station. Only “B96” WBBM-FM Chicago morning co-host Nina Hajian, who voicetracked nights at KSFM is still listed on the station website. Operations Manager Vince Richards told RAMP he will oversee programming until a new PD is hired and added, “Today was a difficult day, but we are pressing ahead and will be evolving KSFM back to its glory days. The format remains the same. We are looking for an entire airstaff and programming team.”
Entercom Alternative “Radio 94.7” KKDO Fair Oaks/Sacramento CA has become the latest station in the company to rebrand under the “Alt” moniker. “Alt 94.7” is promoting itself as “Same Station. Same Great Music Discovery”. The station continues to run jockless. KKDO ranked twelfth in the Sacramento market with a 2.9 share in the February 2018 Nielsen Audio ratings.

Bonneville Hot AC “Now 100.5” KZZO Sacramento has made a change in mornings and to its positioning. Morning host Mark S. Allen has exited after 11 months. Allen returned to KZZO in March 2017 after previously hosting afternoons from 2010-2015. The station has a current job posting for a morning co-host. Allen continues as an anchor and reporter for “ABC 10” KXTV Sacramento. The move comes as KZZO has has also tweaked its positioning from “Today’s Best Hits, Without The Rap” to just “Today’s Best Hits”.

Maki joined Meruelo in July 2017 when the sale of KPWR from Emmis closed after spending 33 years with them.
