Townsquare Media has slid Hot AC “I98.7” KELI San Angelo TX to CHR while rebranding as “98.7 Kiss-FM“. The move, which comes a little over two years after the station segued from AC to Hot AC, places KELI in direct format competition with Foster Communications’ 94.7 KIXY. While KELI has dropped the syndicated Elvis Duran Show from mornings, the rest of the lineup remains in place with Dallas based voicetracker Jess in middays, On Air with Ryan Seacrest in afternoons, and PopCrush Nights with Lisa Paige in evenings.
Another station was hit on Monday with the Barix box hijacking as Lake Keowee Broadcasting Group’s Classic Hits/Beach “Sunny 105.9” WFBS-LP Salem SC began playing the loop of YG & Nipsey Hussle “F*** Donald Trump” around 10:00pm. President Frank Patterson wrote on Facebook that he has captured the IP address used by the hijackers and has passed it on to the FCC. William McCutchen’s 103.5 KBJX Mertzon/San Angelo TX has revealed its permanent identity as it has flipped to AC “Majic 103.5“. The station had been running Christmas Music as “Frosty 103.5” since signing on for the first time in October. KBJX fills the AC hole in the market created by Townsquare Media’s “Magic 98.7” KELI flipping to Hot AC “i98.7” in May.

Translator Moves Hope Christian Church of Marlton is making another attempt at relocating its CP for 105.7 W289AZ Trenton, NJ into the Philadelphia market. After its previous attempt at a Mattoon Waiver to relocate to Camden was denied, W289AZ has amended its application and been granted a Construction Permit to relocate to Palmyra, NJ with 250 watts vertical at 48 meters. Station Moves Beasley (Soon to be CBS) Sports 560 WQAM Miami has applied to relocate to the tower of Salem’s 1450 WOCN. The owners of the station’s tower site on Virginia Key notified WQAM and co-tenant 1360 WKAT earlier this year that their leases will not be renewed.
