The Breakfast Club Debuts On 98.5 The Beat San Antonio

Univision Rhythmic CHR “98.5 The Beat” KBBT San Antonio has added Premiere Networks’ syndicated “The Breakfast Club” with Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy for mornings. The show replaces The Dana Cortez Show, which exited the company at the end of July for a syndication deal with ABC Radio that placed it on Alpha Media’s “Energy 94.1” KTFM in afternoons. The addition of The Breakfast Club also marks a change in strategy for Univision Radio, which until now had not relied on any outside syndication at their stations. KTFM & KKSS Add Dana Cortez Show

The first two affiliates for ABC Radio/Skyview Networks’ newly syndicated Dana Cortez Show have been revealed. In her home market of San Antonio, the show will air from 3-7pm afternoons on Alpha Media Rhythmic CHR “Energy 94.1” KTFM Floresville. The show had been airing in mornings at Univision’s “98.5 The Beat” KBBT from October 2015 until exiting at the end of July. Prior to moving to KBBT, the show was based at “Kiss 97.3” KKSS Albuquerque and aired there until Univision sold the station to American General Media in 2017. As expected ABC Radio and Skyview Networks announced their deal to bring former “98.5 The Beat” KBBT San Antonio morning show “The Dana Cortez Show” to syndication. Cortez’s program will be targeted at CHR, Rhythmic and Hip Hop stations and features herself, husband/producer DJ Automatic, and comedian Anthony Almanzar. Cox Enterprises To Explore Strategic Options For Television Stations

Cox Enterprises has announced that it is exploring its strategic options for its 14 television stations in regards to selling, merging with another operator, or partnering with another to manage. Cox currently owns or operates fourteen stations across ten markets. In five of those markets: Atlanta, Dayton, Jacksonville, Orlando and Tulsa it also operates a radio cluster whose management is completely intertwined with the television stations. Salem Adds Second Conservative Talker In San Antonio

Salem Media launched a second Conservative Talk station in San Antonio TX earlier this month. Spanish Christian “Radio Luz 1160” KRDY San Antonio is now Conservative Talk “Freedom 1160” creating a flanker to “930 The Answer” KLUP Terrell Hills. While KLUP carries mostly Salem Radio Network programming, KRDY has added programming from additional syndicators. Freedom 1160’s lineup features America’s 1st News with Matt Ray from 4-7am, a simulcast of KSKY Dallas’ Mark Davis from 7-8am, Laura Ingraham from 8-11am, Fox News Radio’s Todd Starnes from 11am-2pm, Fox News Radio’s Brian Kilmeade from 2-5pm, Westwood One’s Mark Levin from 5-8pm, Eric Metaxas from 8-10pm, Larry Elder 10pm-1am, and Joe Walsh 1-4am.
