DSC Makes Return To KGB Official

iHeartMedia Classic Rock 101.5 KGB San Diego made the full announcement this morning that The DSC Show will return to the station in mornings for its third tour of duty starting Monday, August 6. Outside of the retiring Shelly Dunn, the entire cast of Dave Rickards, Cookie ‘Chainsaw’ Randolph, Chris Boyer, Nina “Ruth 66” Reeba, Emily Maguire and Sarah Beebe will remain with the show at its new old home. Current KGB morning hosts Bob Buchmann and Coe Lewis will move to 3-7pm afternoons, while afternoon host Clint August moves to middays. Marc Coppola, who currently voicetracks middays will now do the same in the evenings as fellow voicetracker Ty Bailey comes off the weekday schedule. Dave, Shelly & Chainsaw Exit 100.7 KFM-BFM San Diego

TEGNA Rock “100.7 KFM-BFM” KFMB-FM San Diego announced on over the weekend that it has been unable to come to terms with Dave Rickards and Cookie ‘Chainsaw’ Randolph on new contracts and have pulled the plug on the Dave, Shelly and Chainsaw morning show immediately. The contracts of the three hosts were set to expire at the end of the month, but Shelly Dunn announced last week that she would exit the show and retire on Friday, July 27. Shelly Dunn will exit the show on Friday, July 27 after 28 years with the show. Blackwell is coming up on his 35th anniversary at the station starting as News Director in 1983, adding Music Director duties in 1986, and the APD title in 1988. Update 4/11: Entercom has announced that KEGY will become Sports “97.3 The Fan” on Thursday, April 12 at 5:00am. The move comes two weeks to the day that morning host Kevin Klein was set to debut and ends the Hot Talk/Rock format after just six weeks. Despite continuing to promote the scheduled launch of his show by attacking his competition on “97.3 The Machine” KEGY San Diego, Kevin Klein did not debut this morning as scheduled. As the fallout from the tweets continued, the station saw the Padres Opening Day party it was set to host at Bub’s @ The Ballpark cancelled by the venue. San Diego Padres Chairman Ron Fowler told the San Diego Union-Tribune that the team is going to assess its legal options and review its relationship with Entercom following the end of the team’s first homestand. Local Media San Diego Alternative “91X” 91.1 XETRA-FM Tijuana/San Diego launched The Moug Show in mornings today. The show is led by John Moug, who recently departed afternoons as Entercom CHR 98.5 KLUC Las Vegas. He had also been hosting a syndicated show to other markets including Burlington VT and New London CT. His co-host/producer in that endeavor, Jared Dey also makes the move to 91X. Dey spent seven years as a producer at Cox Media Group CHR “Hot 101.5” WPOI and Hot Talk “102.5 The Bone” WHPT Tampa and had been working part-time at KLUC.
