Adams Radio Group rebranded Variety Hits “99.9 Hank-FM” WANK Lafayette/Tallahassee FL as “Tally 99.9” WXTY at 5:00 this afternoon. Adams Radio Group has appointed Jeff Horn as Operations Manager of its Tallahassee cluster and Program Director/Afternoon Host of Country “103.1 The Wolf” WWOF. Horn most recently served as PD of Mighty Media Group’s “95.3 The Rebel” WEBL Coldwater MS/Memphis TN until the elimination of his position in 2016. Adams Radio Expands To Tallahassee

Adams Radio will pay $6,197,000 for Red Hills Broadcasting’s four Tallahassee stations. Hank Kestenbaum, President of Red Hills, will join Adams as General Manager of the cluster, a role he held prior to purchasing the stations from Opus Broadcasting in 2014. AM Changes With their acquisition of Conservative Talk 1270 WYXC Cartersville GA, Michael & Dara Glinter’s Northwest Georgia Broadcasting has applied to move the station to 1260 in the Atlanta suburb of East Point GA. Michael Glinter’s Praise 95, Inc. was the proposed applicant in 2013 to acquire now deleted 1260 WTJH East Point from Willis Broadcasting. WTJH lost its license in July 2014 when an FCC review showed that the station had been off the air for more than one year consecutively following its 2009 silent STA application following its eviction from the tower site making its 2010 license renewal application moot. MyFM Tallahassee Moves To 105.3

A month and a half after moving from 94.3 to 94.5, iHeartMedia’s 1270 WTLY (formerly WNLS) has moved its translator again. At 5pm this evening W233AQ Tallahassee completed it move to 105.3 as W287CO allowing it to increase power from 105 watts to 220 at 178 meters (Coverage Map). Coinciding with the frequency change the station has switched to Christmas music. The current AC format debuted on December 26, 2014 following a month-long run with holiday hits.

Guadalupe Radio Acquires Divine Word Communications

Two Catholic station operators are combining as La Promesa Foundation is acquiring Divine Word Communications and their seven stations and four translators in Alabama and Florida. The Midland, TX based La Promesa operates the “Guadalupe Radio Network” with stations in New Mexico, Texas, and Washington DC. The purchase will add the following stations from Divine Word: 88.3 WJUV Cullman AL, 88.7 WQOH-FM Springville AL, 90.1 WDLG Thomasville AL, 102.7 WPHK Blountstown FL, 1000 WYBT Blountstown, 1230 WDWR/103.3 W277CC Pensacola FL, 1480 WQOH Irondale/92.7 W224CK Vestavia Hills AL, and W262AR Brewton as well as the LMA of 1330 WCVC Tallahassee, which will be rebroadcast on Divine Word’s 96.9 W245CB Tallahassee.
