The stations are being operated by Paul Coates and Mike Huckabee’s East Texas Results Group, which filed to purchase the stations and former Regional Mexican “Kompa-FM” 94.3 KZXM Bullard/103.1 KMPA Pittsburg TX from the estate of Dudley Waller’s Waller Media in May for $1.2 million. Alpha Media flipped Classic Hits “Sunny 106.5” KOOI Jacksonville/Tyler TX to Variety Hits “106.5 Jack-FM” this morning. KOOI had garnered a 3.5 share in the Tyler/Longview market in the Fall 2016 Nielsen Audio ratings. The move pushes KOOI closer competitively to Townsquare Media Hot AC “Mix 93.1” KTYL and its 5.5 share. Alpha Media, East Texas announced the addition of 106.5 Jack FM to KOOI. Station Sales William Pollack’s Pollack Broadcasting is acquiring Richard Jakle’s three stations in Illinois and Nevada for $2 million. The stations involved in the deal are 1280 WBIG Aurora and 1410 WRMN Elgin IL in suburban Chicago and 1400 KSHP North Las Vegas NV. All three stations carry a mix of Talk and Shopping programming. As the KFRO-FM/KLJT morning show arrived at the station they found the locks on the door were changed over the weekend. Amazingly there were some moves this week that did not involve the 250 mile AM translator waiver. The agency acted quickly on many filings from right before the waiver period started so we should see quick action on the multitude of filings made when it started on January 29.

Gleiser Communications has completed the move-in of Classic Hits 97.7 KWRW Rusk, TX into the Tyler market. Now operating on 97.5 licensed to Troup, Gleiser has flipped the station to News/Talk as KTBB-FM. Simulcasting the programming of 600 KTBB/95.7 K239CB Tyler, the addition of the 13kW at 121 meter Class C3 signal to cover the entire Tyler-Longview market. Gleiser as ATW Media purchased KWRW in December for $750,000. The group also owns Sports “ESPN 92.1” KRWR Tyler and “ESPN Deportes 1490” KYZS Tyler.
