Momentum Broadcasting has flipped Christian “Living Water Radio” 1270 KJUG Tulare CA to Christmas Music “My 97.5” with the addition of 97.5 K248BX Visalia. The station is running commercial-free music through December 25, after which it will flip to AC. The leading station in the Visalia/Tulare/Hanford market is iHeart’s “Soft Rock 98.9” KSOF in the adjacent Fresno market. KJUG will give the market its own AC. Momentum Broadcasting also owns Classic Rock 99.7 KIOO, CHR “Hitz 104.9” KCRZ, and Country 106.7 KJUG-FM in the market.

For $2.7 million Big Radio Pro purchases Standards 103.3 KZPO Lindsay/Visalia from the Estate of Linda Ware, the CP for 100.1 KNGS Coalinga from William Zawila, the CP for 106.9 KAAX Avenal from Avenal Educational Services, the CP for 94.7 KYAF Firebaugh from Central Valley Educational Services, and the CP for 102.1 KZPE Ford City/Bakersfield from the Estate of H.L. Charles. The buyer is a Bakersfield based Spanish language programmer and consultant. Station Sales Chesapeake-Portsmouth Broadcasting is acquiring Gospel 1600 WCPK Chesapeake, VA from Christian Broadcasting of Chesapeake in exchange for building out the seller’s 1400 WPCE Portsmouth and a one year free lease for that station’s antenna. Following the first year, WPCE will pay a lease price starting at $600 a month with a 5% annual increase for 15 years. Chesapeake-Portsmouth has been operating 1600 WCPK via Time Brokerage Agreement since January. Update 12/10: Clear Channel has announced that it will flip Hot AC “Alice 96.7” KALZ to “Power Talk 96.7” on January 1. The station will simulcast on 1400 KRZR Visalia to improve coverage south of Fresno. KRZR currently simulcasts “Fox Sports 1340” KCBL.
